Julia N. Smith is a clinical nurse who delivers integrative and evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with an inpatient multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists, support staff and registered nurses. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Tampa and Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida. Smith is affiliated with the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners and received the CVS Health Foundation Scholarship, McNichols Scholarship and the TGH Nurses Week Scholarship. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Kervin Doctor, MD
Family Medicine
About
Dr. Doctor has participated in medical mission and international work in India serving rural, tribal and indigent populations and assisting setup of new clinics in these areas. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Association of American Physicians of Indian Origins and American Medical Women's Association.
Dr. Doctor treats patients of all ages.

Akif Ahmad, MD

Dr. Ahmad has provided comprehensive family medicine care to the Tampa Bay area community since 2015. Before joining Tampa General Medical Group, he treated patients at Evara Health (formerly known as Community Health Centers of Pinellas) in St. Petersburg. Meanwhile, he served as a clinical assistant professor and clinical preceptor for medical students at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Ahmad was also a clinical preceptor for medical students at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville after moving to the United States from Pakistan to begin his family medicine career.

Charles Briggs, MD

About
Charles S. Briggs, MD is a board-certified vascular surgeon who grew up in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary in 2003, followed by his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008. Dr. Briggs completed his General Surgery internship and residency at Boston University Medical Center in 2013, and went on to pursue advanced fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center, which he completed in 2015.
Upon finishing his fellowship, Dr. Briggs joined the faculty at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. His clinical expertise includes the management of peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, limb salvage, and aortic aneurysms. He is deeply committed to surgical quality, innovation, and efficiency, and continues to advance patient care through evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Jennifer Hanle, APRN

She previously worked as a nurse at comprehensive cancer centers including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center where she gained expertise under the mentorship of world-renown myeloma specialists. To further advance her role in patient care for myeloma patients, she graduated as a Nurse Practitioner with her MSN from George Washington University in 2021. She is highly experienced in the management of patients with multiple myeloma and other plasma cell disorders and also has experience in bone marrow transplantation.
Jennifer is passionate about patient education and delivering high quality patient-centered care. She is the recipient of the 2016 Johns Hopkins Oncology Nursing Clinical Excellence Award and was a Johns Hopkins Nursing Shining Star Nominee in 2017. Jennifer comes to TGH to help build the Myeloma and BMT programs.

Courtney N Mascoe, MD

Dr. Mascoe earned her medical degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL, and completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology in St. Petersburg, FL, where she distinguished herself as academic chief and received multiple awards. She pursued advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at the National Institutes of Health/Children's National Hospital in Bethesda, MD, and Washington, DC.
Dr. Mascoe has presented at local and national conferences on specialized topics. She actively participates in professional organizations such as the Oncofertility Consortium, North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
Dr. Mascoe's clinical expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of conditions including vulvar dermatological complaints, abnormal periods, pubertal development, ovarian cysts, menstrual management for medically complex patients, and reproductive tract anomalies. She prioritizes creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for her patients and their families, emphasizing patient education to promote understanding and empowerment.
Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, reproductive endocrinopathies, and fertility preservation, reflecting her commitment to advancing treatment options and enhancing outcomes for her patients.
