Dr. Trushar Patel is an Associate Professor and serves as the Vice Chairman in the Department of Urology at the University of South Florida. He is the Director of Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery, in addition to his role as the Residency Program Director. Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his urology residency at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Patel serves on several institutional, state, and national leadership committees. He is currently the highest-volume Robotic Urologic Oncologist in the Tampa Bay Region. Dr. Patel's research interests include medical/surgical education and health policy.

Dr. Abigail Beard is on the medical staff at Tampa General Hospital and an assistant professor of Breast Surgery at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. Her areas of interest include benign and malignant disorders of the breast, high risk breast cancer screening, and breast conservation and oncoplastic surgery, about which Dr. Beard has given several presentations and published studies. She is the vice chair of the Committee on Cancer and has served on the Radiation Oncology Chair Search Committee, both at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Beards awards and honors including clerkships in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Psychiatry, and letters of commendation in Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Neurology. Dr. Richard Jacobson is a surgical oncologist specializing in soft tissue and gastrointestinal cancers. He earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed residency at the Rush University - John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County Integrated General Surgery program, where he served as administrative chief resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center, where he served as administrative chief fellow.

Throughout his training, Dr. Jacobson has been recognized for his research and patient care. He has numerous publications in academic surgical and oncology journals and has active grant funding for his research. He is building a basic/translational research program investigating the gut microbiome and its impact on cancer surgery, and microbiome-targeted prehabilitation for surgery. Dr. Jacobson remains committed to advancing the field of surgical oncology through innovation and leadership.
