USF Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology

I'm currently working as an Assistant Professor in the University of South Florida Physician Assistant Program. On Fridays, I continue to provide care to patients that require same day (acute care) appointments for USF Family Medicine.

Dr. Murray graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry. He obtained his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine and Family Medicine Residency at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. He completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at USF Morsani College of Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine. Dr. Murray serves as Team Physician for the Department of Athletics at the University of South Florida and cares for concussion patients at the USF Concussion Center. He also enjoys working as a primary care physician within USF Family Medicine department, seeing athletes ranging from young rookies to seniors with silver sneakers.

Having grown up in Tampa, I am deeply committed to serving our community with expertise and compassion. Inspired by my faith and family, I approach each patient interaction with care. We are privileged to care for our patients; thus my interactions should reflect this honor. Our learners will emulate the care we teach, so our methods will be amplified.

I have been in continuous practice in the Neurological Surgery Department at the University of South Florida College of Medicine for over 30 years. While I still provide general neurosurgical care, my focus areas include Deep Brain Stimulation for the management of movement disorders, the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions, and neurosurgical procedures for the relief of pain.

I am committed to making patients' experiences with USF Health more engaging, easy, and enjoyable by transforming our practice into a patient-centered medical home.

I also believe we are a global village and my role as a healer and teacher is to help marginalized populations. I spent one year in Sierra Leone training local providers and fighting the Ebola epidemic, responded to the post-hurricane medical relief efforts in Puerto Rico in 2017, and volunteer locally with Tampa Bay Street Medicine organization that cares for homeless patients around Tampa. I have extra training and certification in HIV medicine in addition to internal medicine certification.

Patricia J. Emmanuel, M.D., operates as Chief of TGH Children's Hospital and as the Lewis A. Barness Professor and Chair of the Pediatrics Department at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Emmanuel obtained her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Emmanuel is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics for pediatric infectious diseases & pediatrics and is the former president of the Hillsborough Country Pediatric Society. Dr. Emmanuel's dedication to her patients has been recognized in the forms of her leadership and knowledge as she has received the President's Women's Leadership Award from USF Women's Status Committee and was featured in the Monograph for an Expert Guide on Children and Families.
