About

Dr. Lee Leddy did his undergraduate work at Emory University where he received his BS in biological science while lettering on the varsity basketball team. He then received his M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Leddy went back to Emory University to complete his internship and residency in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He joined MUSC in 2009 after completing a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at Emory University where he helped establish the sarcoma program and is currently the leader of the Sarcoma Disease Focus Team at Hollings Cancer Center. Dr. Leddy currently serves as the chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine and the chief of the Musculoskeletal Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE). He is actively involved in both clinical and basic science research and collaborates in the Sarcoma Immunotherapy Lab.As a member of the MUSC Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine, Dr. Leddy's primary focus is providing excellent care to patients with benign and malignant bone and soft tissues tumors in children and adults, metastatic bone cancer, fracture care, and primary and revision hip replacements.

Dr. Barry Gibney is an assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at MUSC. He completed his general surgery training at Penn State Hershey, and his thoracic surgery training at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Gibney takes care of patients with lung and esophageal cancer, mesothelioma, mediastinal and chest wall tumors, and benign esophageal diseases such as reflux, achalasia, and paraesophageal hernias. Additionally, he cares for end-stage lung disease in a multidisciplinary lung transplant team. He has special interests in esophageal cancer and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. His published research can be found on the National Institutes of Health PubMed website.

Dr. Brian Orr is a gynecologic oncologist at Hollings Cancer Center and assistant professor at Medical University of South Carolina. He completed residency at the University of South Florida and fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh. As faculty at University of Pittsburgh, he completed a master's degree in Clinical and Translational Science. In addition to clinical activities of minimally invasive surgery, chemotherapy, and HIPEC for gynecologic cancer patients, he is active in clinical research. Dr. Christie J. Hilton is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Hilton obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at the Western Pennsylvania. She has over a decade of experience treating breast cancer patients. She joins MUSC after a successful career in Pittsburgh, PA where she served as the Director of Academic Breast Oncology and the Director of the Glimmer of Hope Metastatic Breast Cancer Clinic at AHN. She was a teaching attending for the internal medicine residency and the hematology oncology fellowship at AHN and was an assistant professor of medicine at the Drexel University College of Medicine. While in Pittsburgh she also worked in operations at the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) Foundation as a clinical research collaborator for breast oncology clinical trials. Her clinical interests are young women's breast cancer, breast cancer during pregnancy, metastatic breast cancer and clinical trials exploring novel compounds. She joins MUSC as the Director of Community Breast Oncology with the goal of expanding clinical trials at MUSC. She has served as the institutional primary investigator on multiple clinical trials. She is a published researcher in her area of expertise. Dr. Hilton has mentored many young physicians and has great pride in their success. She is known for and has been recognized for compassionate care. She was identified as a Pittsburgh Top Doctor in Oncology from 2021 - 2025.
