Dr. Fernando A. Herrera Jr. obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas before moving east to attend medical school at Boston University in Massachusetts. After completing his medical school education in 2003, he then moved west to California where he completed general surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego. He then remained in California completing his orthopedic hand surgery fellowship, as well as completing a residency in plastic \& reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine. After completing his training in 2012, he accepted a position at Medical University of South Carolina where he is currently an associate professor in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Herrera practices cosmetic, general plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand, and upper extremity surgery. He treats all conditions of the hand and wrist including arthritis,In addition, Dr. Herrera performs breast surgery and all cosmetic procedures from face lift to liposuction, as well as injectables of the face (Botox and fillers). He has authored several book chapters and published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has presented at numerous local, national, Dr. Herrera serves on several national society committees including the American Society for Surgery for the Hand, Adrian E Flatt Resident and Fellows conference committee, and American Society of Plastic Surgeons PSEN Editorial committee, hand section assistant editor. Dr Herrera is also a reviewer for the Journal of Hand Surgery, and HAND.

Dr. Diann Krywko joined the MUSC faculty full-time in January 2008. She completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University-Lyman Briggs College of Natural Science in 1992 and then graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1996. She completed a residency in emergency medicine in 1999 at the University of Michigan St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and was board certified in emergency medicine the following year. Dr. Krywko was a clinical instructor and subsequently, an assistant professor at the University of Michigan working clinically in Flint, Michigan, at Hurley Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center, for almost 10 years. Academically, Dr. Krywko was promoted to professor in 2018 in the clinician-educator track, becoming the second female professor of emergency medicine in the state of South Carolina. She has published seven book chapters along with having authorship on numerous publications. Three chapters are in *Roberts and Hedges*, one of the standard texts in the field of emergency medicine. Furthermore, Dr. Krywko has developed expertise in Women in Leadership, Wellness, Professional Development, OB Trauma, and *Loxosceles* envenomation, having done research on *Loxosceles reclusa* venom while a faculty member at the University of Michigan. She has served as a member of the AAWEP, AMA, ACEP, and SAEM. Currently, she is the chair of the ACEP Well Being Committee. Continuing in her passion for teaching, Dr. Krywko assumed the role of associate program director of the MUSC emergency medicine residency program from 2008 to 2013. She revised the educational curriculum as curriculum director, resulting in a marked quality improvement. Her evaluations from residents, APPs, medical students, and nurses are consistently high. She is recognized as an inspiring teacher and has excellent teaching evaluations. Dr. Krywko has been nominated for the Golden Apple Award and MUSC Educational Excellence Award. She was the recipient of the 2017 National EM ACEP Faculty Teaching Award. The EM residents have awarded her the Platinum Podium Award for her didactic education contributions and the Ultimate Fighter Award for four years of clinical resident advocacy. Her main interest is mentoring others, particularly women. At the ACEP19 national meeting in Denver, she was awarded the American Association of Women Emergency Physicians (AAWEP) Outstanding Mentor of the Year. Dr. Krywko mentors within the College of Medicine, the department of emergency medicine, and the emergency medicine residency program. She re-established a women's mentoring group for emergency medicine and pediatric residents and serves as faculty liaison. In 2012 Dr. Krywko assumed the role of emergency medicine division mentoring champion. She extends her mentoring into the college, having served on the WSI committee establishing mini-mentoring sessions for faculty. Her lectures on women in leadership have been presented regionally and nationally. Currently, her research and academic endeavors have been focused on wellness and professional development and her innovative EM\*Ppowered (Emergency Medicine Personal and Professional Wellness, Renewed Engagement, and Development) initiative. This multifactorial initiative includes an evidenced-based curriculum, an innovative senior elective, and a residency wellness committee. Her work has been presented at ACEP and SAEM.

Dr. Ashley Hink is a general, trauma and critical care surgeon that specializes in the care of people with injuries, burns and critical illness. She also cares for general surgical problems including hernias and gallbladder diseases. She values providing the highest quality, evidence-based surgical and medical care to all her patients. She also values providing compassionate care, and having open communication with patients and their families so they can feel empowered to make informed decisions in their health care. She enjoys providing medical and surgical care for a diverse patient population and making all patients feel welcomed and cared for. Dr. Hink attended medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, completed her general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, and obtained a Master of Public Health Degree at Emory. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle, WA to complete her Trauma and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Harborview Medical Center. This busy, level I trauma center provided extra training in trauma and surgical critical care, and she obtained additional experience in managing soft tissue infections, penetrating trauma, burns, respiratory and heart failure requiring ECMO (temporary lung and heart bypass), pediatric critical care and palliative care for individuals with severe illness and injury. She now cares for patients at MUSC, which is home to the only American College of Surgeons Verified Level I trauma center in the low-country region of SC. In addition to her clinical interests and surgical practice, she has a special research interest in injury and violence prevention, and recovery after trauma. She serves on the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) Injury Prevention Committee, working on research and advocacy efforts that aim to reduce violent injuries and suicides. Her work has been published in scientific journals, and she has won awards for her leadership in surgery and humanism in medicine.

Dr. Arumuganathan earned her medical degree and completed her emergency medicine residency at West Virginia University, where she served as chief resident. She also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was honored with the Neal Nathanson Award for Excellence in Global Public Health. During her training, Dr. Arumuganathan worked with healthcare teams in Botswana, Pakistan, and Ghana to help strengthen emergency care systems worldwide. She has supported these providers through teaching, simulation programs, curriculum development, and research efforts focused on improving care in resource-limited settings. Her contributions have been recognized nationally by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, which awarded her both the Fellow Award and the Global Emergency Medicine Academy's Young Physician Award. In addition to her clinical work, she remains actively involved in teaching, mentorship, and research aimed at building sustainable emergency care around the world. Dr. Christine Carr is a professor of emergency medicine and public health sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She also serves as the medical director of Health Data Exchange for Health Sciences South Carolina, and as a senior clinical advisor for the South Carolina Hospital Association. Dr. Carr undertook her undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, earned her M.D. at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992, and in 1995 completed her internship and residency in emergency medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. As the inaugural Chief Wellbeing Officer for the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Farley's focus is on advancing the professional fulfillment and wellbeing of healthcare team members, faculty, staff, and students. She leads advocacy programs and initiatives aimed at optimizing the employee experience and fostering work-life meaning, connection, and joy. Dr. Farley completed residency training in emergency medicine in 2005, fellowship training in administration in 2006, and earned her Master of Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College in 2018. As a pioneer in the emerging field of healthcare worker wellbeing, she developed "Care for the Caregiver", one of the nation's earliest and largest peer support programs for health care workers. She subsequently served as the first Chief Wellness Officer at ChristianaCare in Wilmington, DE, where she launched the transformational work of the organization's Center for WorkLife Wellbeing. Dr. Farley is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has held several leadership positions within the American College of Emergency Physicians on the state and national level. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and has been the principal or co-investigator in over 10 grant-funded studies. She frequently speaks at local, national and international venues with the goal of mutual sharing of best practices and innovations in the field of healthcare workforce wellbeing. Before joining the faculty at MUSC he was an attending physician at Children's Colorado in Denver. Dr. Kane is the associate PEM fellowship director and the division coordinator for medical student and resident education. Dr. Laura G. McCabe is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with additional training in forensic psychiatry. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and treating a range of diagnoses. Dr. McCabe graduated with her B.S. in neuroscience from Tulane University. She earned her medical degree from MUSC before moving to Louisiana for residency. She completed her psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. During residency, Dr. McCabe was recognized for her outstanding clinical skills and dedication to patient care. She received the Roger Hatchette Award for Excellence in Emergency Psychiatry as well as the LSU Department of Psychiatry Award for Excellence in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. After residency, Dr. McCabe moved back to South Carolina and completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. During her fellowship, she gained experience working on a variety of civil and criminal psychiatric cases, including risk assessments, disability cases, and fitness for duty evaluations. Dr. McCabe is a clinical assistant professor in the Psychiatry Hospitalist Division of the MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
