Dr. Joshua Neal is an Obesity Medicine physician at MUSC, where he is an assistant professor in the Division of Endocrinology. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before attending medical school at Albany Medical College. Dr. Neal completed his residency in Family Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and served four years abroad with the U.S. Army. Before joining MUSC, he was the regional medical director for Ascension St. Vincent's Bariatric Medical Weight Management Program. He has also worked in urgent and primary care. Dr. Neal is board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. He has special interests in weight management and culinary medicine. His background in family medicine, urgent care, concierge medicine, and military medicine helps to inform a comprehensive approach to patient care. He understands that everyone has a unique relationship with food and weight. He works to support each patient in reaching their own goals while improving the determinants of metabolic health.

Dr. Harsha Karanchi is an endocrinologist at MUSC. He joined as an assistant professor in the Division of Endocrinology in 2018. He graduated from medical school in India and subsequently pursued residency in internal medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas. He completed fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at St. Louis University School of Medicine, Missouri, and then served as faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, for three years before moving to Charleston. Dr. Karanchi is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. As a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and American Board of Clinical Lipidology, he is a certified obesity medicine specialist and lipidologist. He is a member of The Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association, and was inducted as a Fellow by the American College of Endocrinology in 2018. He received an employee appreciation award -the Shining Star 2017- for outstanding service while faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He was promoted to associate professor at MUSC in 2021. Dr. Karanchi is interested in helping patients manage obesity, metabolic syndrome, and prevent diabetes and complications. His clinical practice focuses on weight management and diabetes. Dr. Karanchi is committed to providing comprehensive quality care and emphasizes patient education. The role of nutrition, eating patterns, and exercise in the promotion of health is emphasized. He works with patients in a supportive environment to reach their individualized goals while tackling impediments posed by life in the modern world.

Maegan Manson FNP-C, CDCES is a family nurse practitioner and is part of the MUSC Telehealth Management Of Maternal (MOMs) Diabetes Program. She and her team provide comprehensive care for moms who have diabetes, including those who develop diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes). Early, intensive management of diabetes during pregnancy can help decrease the risk of complications and birth defects. Dr. Cornier is currently Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to that he received his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he received a bachelor of science in Biomedical Engineering in 1987. Dr. Cornier then attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, receiving his medical degree in 1992. He went on to do his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC from 1992 to 1995. He followed this with a fellowship in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes at the University of Colorado health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado, which he completed in 1999. He was then on faculty at the University of Colorado with the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes until 2021. At the University of Colorado, Dr. Cornier was the Associated Division Head for Endocrinology as well as the Associate Director and Medical Director of the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. He was the Director of the Clinical Intervention and Translation Core of the Colorado Nutrition Obesity Research Center and an Associate Director of the University of Colorado Obesity Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr Cornier was the Director of the Advanced Lipid Disorders Clinic and Lipoprotein Apheresis Program at University of Colorado Hospital and where he also ran a diabetes clinic. Dr. Cornier was also on staff at Denver Health Medical Center in Denver, Colorado from 1999 to 2016 as a general clinical endocrinologist and at Aspen Valley Hospital in Aspen, Colorado from 2017 to 2021. Dr. Cornier is an active clinical and translational investigator with a primary research interest in understanding the complex regulation of food intake and body weight and in studying optimal interventions for weight management and metabolic health. He has also been involved in clinical trials for investigational treatments for lipid disorders and obesity. Dr. Cornier has been an active volunteer in important health-related associations, such as the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Lipid Association, and The Obesity Society.
