Dr. Pelic is a tenured professor of psychiatry at MUSC. He has been on faculty since 2004 providing clinical work on inpatient units, medical/surgical units, and outpatient telepsychiatry during that time. He has been heavily engaged in education and formerly worked in the MUSC College of Medicine Dean's Office in Student Affairs. Currently Dr. Pelic's clinical practice through MUSC is at Clemson University Student Health Clinic providing mental health care to the students via telehealth. In addition, Dr. Pelic is the lead physician for MUSC's Health, Wellness, and Human Performance Institute located in Mt. Pleasant.

LalithKumar Solai, M.D., is from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He served as the Professor of Psychiatry and the Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry. While there, he also served as Medical Director of Patient Safety at the UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH). In addition, he was the medical director of the Center for Interventional Psychiatry (CIP), overseeing care for patients with severe, difficult-to-treat depression and other debilitating psychiatric disorders. Under Dr. Solai's leadership, the CIP maintained a national reputation as a top provider of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), widely considered the gold-standard treatment for severe depression. Dr. Solai also substantially expanded the range of therapies provided by the CIP, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and ketamine. As chief of geriatric psychiatry, Dr. Solai led WPH's Geriatric Psychiatry Services (the largest geriatric psychiatric psychiatry division in the country), including the Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Unit, the Long-Term Care program, the Bellefield Enhanced Support Team (BEST) program, the Benedum Geriatric Center and UPMC Senior Care-Shadyside. He also supervised clinical services to more than 15 local/regional long-term care centers. His passion for clinical services lies within mental health services for nursing home patients. He created and managed a 30-bed nursing home unit that serves only primary behavioral health patients. Dr. Solai is a dedicated and accomplished educator who has taught extensively at all levels, particularly in resident and fellow training at WPH. He organized and ran the regional annual conference on Behavioral Health and Aging for more than ten years. He was the director of the geriatric psychiatry fellowship, a training program with a national reputation for clinical and educational excellence in late-life mental health.

Lisa Trautman is a double-boarded nurse practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Practice. She graduated from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her career path included diverse nursing specialties such as adult, pediatric and neonatal intensive care, and outpatient clinics treatment specific in physical, mental, or behavioral health conditions within university teaching hospitals as well as community hospitals. This particular career trajectory afforded Lisa a deeper understanding of patients' individual lived experiences thru authentic communication. Her belief that all persons deserve equitable and accessible high-quality care was the driving force to pursue higher education. Initially, Lisa graduated from Olivet Nazarene University Chicago, Illinois in 2018 with a Master's of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner concentration and immediately reentered school at Anderson University Anderson, SC and completed in 2020 a Post-Master's Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Lisa's advanced nurse practitioner career has included treating patients aged child through adult at a psychiatric private practice in addition to supervising a medically managed weight loss clinic located within the local hospital. In her practice, Lisa forms partnerships with the patients, their families, the community, and the multidisciplinary team to individualize a plan of care.

Dr. Lauren Carter is a licensed clinical psychologist. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Florida State University. Dr. Carter completed her predoctoral internship at the Charleston Consortium Clinical Psychology Internship Program (MUSC and Ralph Johnson VA) and her postdoctoral fellowship specializing in behavioral medicine at MUSC. Following her fellowship in behavioral medicine, Dr. Carter joined the faculty at MUSC in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Bio-Behavioral Medicine. Dr. Carter's clinical practice specializes in assessment and intervention that is focused on optimizing quality of life in patients who are experiencing a variety of medical and psychiatric conditions. She currently sees patients in the Institute of Psychiatry and Women's Health at Resolute Way, primarily working with the following populations: bariatric (pre-/post- surgery), eating and weight disorders, solid organ transplant (pre-/post- transplant), chronic pain, women's health, and co-occurring substance use disorders within these populations. ,In addition to patient care, Dr. Carter is currently active in clinical research and training. She serves as a supervisor in the Behavioral Medicine Clinic and the Women's Reproductive Behavioral Health Clinic for the Charleston Consortium Clinical Psychology Internship Program. Her research interests focus broadly on eating and weight disorders, exercise, quality of life, and behavioral medicine.

Katherine Frichette is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who sees patients full time at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Utah, and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Vermont. Early in her career, Dr. Frichette worked as a psychiatric registered nurse treating children and adolescents with complex mental health conditions in a school and residential setting. She later moved on to working in the psychiatric hospital setting, treating patients of all ages. Following graduation with her doctoral degree, Dr. Frichette transitioned to working in an outpatient psychiatry clinic treating adolescents, adults, and older adults with various mental health conditions. Clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, ADHD, adolescent mental health, maternal mental health, and substance use disorders. Dr. Frichette utilizes a person-centered approach in her treatment, and welcomes clients of all different backgrounds.

Dr. Daniel Smith completed his doctoral training at Rutgers University, his internship training at the Medical University of South Carolina, and his post-doctoral research and clinical training at the National Crime Victims Research & Treatment Center within MUSC's Department of Psychiatry.He is a licensed clinical psychologist in South Carolina. His primary clinical interests include the evidence-based treatment of PTSD and related conditions (such as adjustment disorder and depression) in youth and adults who have been exposed to traumatic experiences (including child abuse, crime victimization, accidents, etc.).Dr. Smith is a nationally certified provider of trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy and proficient in cognitive processing therapy and prolonged exposure, all of which are evidence-supported treatments for PTSD. At present, his clinical activities primarily involve training psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows to deliver services to these populations, but he does maintain a very limited clinical practice.

Dr. Diana Mullis holds a faculty position as associate professor with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She also holds the positions of vice-chair for clinical operations for the department and medical director for the Mental Health Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE).

Dr. Ed Kantor is an associate professor and the residency director for psychiatry at MUSC (the Medical University of South Carolina) and is a distinguished fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. His clinical work is predominantly in emergency psychiatry, general hospital psychiatry, and geriatrics. He also supervises residents in a variety of outpatient training settings including a new collaborative care project in HIV psychiatry with the infectious diseases division and the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center. Dr. Kantor serves as a co-director for the combined training programs in internal medicine/psychiatry and neurology/psychiatry. He serves as the co-chair of the College of Medicine's graduate medical education (GME), diversity strategic planning committee and has expanded the diversity planning, education, and recruitment efforts for residency training in psychiatry and across the medical specialties. He completed his premedical training at the University of Pennsylvania, and attended Hahnemann University in Philadelphia for medical school (now Drexel University) and a psychiatry residency (chief residency) at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville. He also serves as the state liaison/chair for disaster psychiatry for the South Carolina Psychiatric Association and is a member of the GAP committee on disasters and the world, and a co-author of Disaster Psychiatry, Readiness, Evaluation and Treatment (APPI 2012) and Hidden Impact, What to know before the next disaster (2010).Before coming to MUSC, Dr. Kantor was the residency director at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, where he was active in community mental health, and disaster and emergency response. There he was the first medical director of a joint university-community crisis stabilization program, and helped to found the regional police mental health training initiative. Clinically, he has served as the director of consult-liaison, emergency and community psychiatry division since 2003 and held appointments in psychiatry and emergency medicine. He is board certified in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine through the ABPN and has interprofessional board certification in traumatic stress and crisis and emergency response through the AAETS.He also obtained a demonstration grant from HHS for a community service, public education leadership project for medical students using a disaster response focus, which became the first student-led medical reserve corps (UVAMRC) in 2003. The program was recognized by the U.S. Surgeon General's Office as a model program for universities. Dr. Kantor also received an NIMH outreach mental health education grant to promote public and professional understanding and to decrease stigma related to mental illness. In medical school he served as a volunteer and director of the Homeless Clinics Project in Philadelphia, a student-run health care project, which was recognized as the 809th point of light by the President of the United States in 1992.

Dr. Jessica Broadway received her BS in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She went to medical school at the Medical College of Ohio (now known as the University of Toledo College of Medicine), and completed her internship and residency in general psychiatry from the Medical University of South Carolina. She also received her sub-specialty fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Broadway is board certified in both general and geriatric psychiatry. She is the program director for the geriatric psychiatry fellowship and also very involved in the general psychiatry training program.

Patrick M. O'Neil is professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he is director of the Weight Management Center. He received his BS in economics from Louisiana State University and his MS and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Georgia. Dr. O'Neil has been professionally involved in obesity since 1977 in numerous clinical, teaching, research and public education roles. He directs the long-standing multidisciplinary MUSC Weight Management Center. His teaching activities include supervision of psychology interns, lectures to medical students and other trainee groups, and invited continuing medical education lectures. He is and has been principal investigator for a large number of externally funded clinical trials of weight-loss agents and interventions. He is the author of more than 100 professional publications, chapters, and presentations, primarily concerning obesity and its management. Dr. O'Neil is a longstanding active member of The Obesity Society, having served as councilor, vice president, and president. He is a present or former member of the editorial boards of the journals Eating Behaviors, Korean Journal of Obesity, Obesity (formerly Obesity Research), and International Journal of Obesity, and formerly served as associate editor of the journal Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases. He is a former member of the Committee on Military Nutrition Research of the Institute of Medicine. Closer to home, Dr. O'Neil served as a member of the Scientific Council of the South Carolina Nutrition Research Consortium throughout its existence. He is a former member and chair of the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Psychology, and past president of the South Carolina Academy of Professional Psychologists. For over nine years, he wrote the popular "Weighing the Choices" column, which appeared every week in Charleston's Sunday edition of The Post and Courier. In 2015 he was elected mayor of the Town of Sullivan's Island, having served as a member of Town Council since 2001 and prior to that, member and chair of the Town's Planning Commission.

Dr. Guevara earned her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Cell Science and a minor in Nutritional Science at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). She then moved to Orlando, FL to obtain her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) in 2019. She completed both her residency training in Adult Psychiatry and fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 5 years. In her last year of fellowship, Dr. Guevara was elected by her peers and faculty as Chief Resident and founder of the fellowship program's Fellow Wellness Committee. In her role as Chief Resident, she was tasked with educational lessons and served as resident liaison with mental health providers in the community and beyond. Due to her clinical and educational efforts, Dr. Guevara was awarded the Fellow of the Year Award across all the department specialties at MUSC in 2022-2023. Her aim is to collaborate with you and work together to formulate the best treatment approach - whether that is medication management, psychotherapy, or both.

A.J. Manett completed his B.S. in Chemistry-Engineering from Washington and Lee University in 2005 and his M.D. from the University of Toledo in 2009. In 2013, he completed a residency in Psychiatry at MUSC and served as Chief Resident. In 2014, he completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at MUSC. Upon completion of training, he began working with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health at the Charleston-Dorchester Mental Health Center. He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences from 2014 until 2016, where he supervised residents and taught medical students. In 2016, he returned to MUSC to join the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Brain Stimulation Laboratory Division in the Department of Psychiatry. As a member of the Brain Stimulation team, he provides a variety of brain stimulation treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders such as treatment-resistant depression. These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He also leads an inpatient treatment team at the Institute of Psychiatry that helps stabilize acute symptoms of mood disorders and psychotic disorders. Dr. Manett has board certifications in both Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He has an interest in the treatment of co-occurring substance use disorders and mood disorders. He is licensed by the DEA to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opiate use disorders. He is also active in the teaching and training of medical students and residents at MUSC.

Dr. Amanda Gilmore received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Washington in 2015. She completed her clinical internship training at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division and her postdoctoral training in child and adult trauma research at the National Crime Victims Research & Treatment Center (NCVC) at MUSC. She joined the MUSC faculty in 2016 and currently holds a joint appointment in the College of Nursing and the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences as a research assistant professor. Dr. Gilmore is a licensed clinical psychologist and sees patients at Comprehensive Psychiatric Care Specialists. Her clinical work focuses on the use of cognitive-behavioral therapies for post traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Gilmore was trained by Dr. Marsha Linehan, the treatment developer of DBT and has served as a consultant for implementing DBT in community mental health and conducts DBT training for community mental health professionals.

Dr. Pavlacic is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Sleep, Mood, Anxiety Research \& Treatment Division. He provides therapy to adults with anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, sleep disturbances, and co-occurring difficulties such as acute and chronic pain and sensory processing conditions. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi, where he received comprehensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy skills, and mindfulness-based interventions. He completed his predoctoral internship training and postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina and the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. In his clinical practice, he takes a personalized, cognitive-behavioral approach - tailoring treatment to each individual's goals and values.

Dr. Stacey Maurer is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in health psychology. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Florida with a specialty in health psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and joined MUSC faculty in August 2016 as an instructor in the division of bio-behavioral medicine.Dr. Maurer sees patients at the Hollings Cancer Center and the Institute of Psychiatry. Her clinical practice focuses on patients who are experiencing a variety of medical illnesses including cancer, end-stage organ disease, and chronic pain. She works with her patients to adjust to living with a chronic illness and improve their overall quality of life. In addition, she helps her patients to change health behaviors to improve overall health status and prepare for treatments/procedures.Dr. Maurer is enthusiastic about the integration of medical and psychiatric specialties. She is developing the distress screening program at Hollings Cancer Center which will help medical providers to improve detection of psychological distress in their patients. This will improve access to psychological and other supportive services for patients who are living with cancer in order to improve the quality of cancer care.

Dr. Sharlene Wedin is board certified in clinical psychology. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University and completed her predoctoral internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center with primary rotations in behavioral medicine and outpatient psychology. Dr. Wedin completed an MA in counseling psychology at the University of Denver and a BA with honors in scientific/experimental psychology from Alfred University. Dr. Wedin previously was Army officer and faculty at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She is currently an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, division of bio-behavioral medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Rebecca Kilpatrick is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Bio-Behavioral Medicine at MUSC. She completed her graduate training at East Carolina University, residency at Kansas University Medical Center, and fellowship at MUSC. Dr. Kilpatrick provides psychological evaluation and treatment services to patients with a wide variety of chronic medical conditions. She conducts pre-surgical psychosocial evaluations and primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy for patients struggling with mood/adjustment to chronic illness, health behavior change, chronic pain, and other aspects of emotional and behavioral health. She is the associate clinical director of the MUSC Pain Rehabilitation Program. She also supervises interns and fellows in Bio-Behavioral Medicine.

Raymond F. Anton, M.D. is an addiction psychiatrist and clinical neuroscientist. He is a distinguished university professor of psychiatry and behavioral science at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, where he holds the Thurmond Wellness Endowed Chair. He the scientific director of an NIAAA-funded Alcohol Research Center, and the director of the Clinical Neurobiology Laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry.Dr. Anton is a past-president of the Research Society on Alcoholism (RSA) and is currently on the board of directors (secretary) of the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ISBRA). He is an elected fellow to the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and a distinguished life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is also currently serving as chair of the ACTIVE workgroup, a consortium of academics, government agencies, and the pharmaceutical industry whose task it is to define the best methods for clinical trials for alcohol use disorders. He also holds a prestigious Career Development Award (K05) from NIAAA to assist in mentoring junior researchers and developing genetic and brain imaging technologies.He is internationally known for his expertise in alcohol use disorder pharmacotherapy and the use of lab tests to identify various drinking patterns. He has published over 300 articles and book chapters and has active funding for incorporating neuroimaging and genetics into alcohol treatment trials. He also helped pioneer the clinical utility of the CDT blood test for the detection and monitoring of heavy alcohol use and has been a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry workgroup on CDT measurement standardization. In June 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Henri Begleiter Award for Research Excellence by the Research Society on Alcoholism.

Catherine Byrne, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical assistant professor in the Sleep and Anxiety Treatment and Research Division. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Byrne completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Child and Family Therapy Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She worked as a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, for 2.5 years before moving to Charleston, SC, with her family. Dr. Byrne has extensive experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of presenting psychological concerns. She is particularly interested in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders.

Robert Malcolm, M.D. is a board-certified psychiatrist, clinical researcher, and faculty educator at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Malcolm is a retired Air Force Flight Surgeon, and has held a multitude of clinical research studies, including in the use of ketamine for treatment-resistant depression. For over 40 years, Dr. Malcolm has been a dedicated patient advocate and is well-respected by his peers in the mental health community for his integrity and authentic approach to patient care. He is an experienced diagnostician and a compassionate clinician. Dr. Malcolm is formally trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and can offer this and other customized treatment plans to his patients. He enjoys getting to know his patients as individuals and helping them achieve their unique goals.Dr. Malcolm enjoys living in Charleston and experiencing all the city has to offer. He is especially grateful to live by the ocean and have the opportunity to sail and go fishing with friends and family.

Dr. Regan Stewart is a clinical psychologist and an assistant professor in the Mental Health Disparities and Diversity Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Mississippi and completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on the impact of traumatic stress on children and families and addressing mental health disparities among underserved, trauma-exposed youth, particularly through the use of telehealth technology. Her clinical work focuses on the use of cognitive-behavioral therapies for posttraumatic stress disorder, with a particular focus on child and adolescent populations. Dr. Stewart is fluent in Spanish.

Chesika J. Crump, M.D. is from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. She is a second-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina's Institute of Psychiatry. Her specialties include adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry.

Dr. Rochelle Hanson is a tenured professor at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVC), Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Medical University of South Carolina. She is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of trauma among youth and adults. She also serves as Director of the NCVC Family and Child Program. She has led several research and services grants focused on the best ways to train professionals in delivering treatments for those experiencing trauma-related problems. She is a national trainer in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events and provides training within and outside of the United States. She was the 2010 recipient of the MUSC teaching excellence award as an educator-mentor. Her current work also focuses on ways to provide integrated and collaborative health care services in pediatric primary care. Dr. Hanson serves as a supervisor for psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows at the NCVC and in pediatric primary care.

Dr. Beckworth was born in Savannah, Georgia, and completed his undergraduate education at The University of Georgia in 2013. He graduated from the University of Georgia Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Dr. Beckworth attended medical school at The Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership in Athens Georgia, and obtained his medical degree in 2019. During his time in medical school, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society for his academic achievements. He moved to Charleston, South Carolina after medical school, where he completed both his General Psychiatry residency, as well as his fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Medical University of South Carolina. During fellowship training, he earned the psychiatry Golden Apple Teaching Award for efforts in medical student teaching. After completing his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship, Dr. Beckworth transitioned to a faculty position at The Medical University of South Carolina in 2024. Dr. Beckworth is board certified in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Beckworth specializes in seeing children, adolescents, and some young adults. He has additional clinical interest in working with individuals of the LGBTQIA+ community, and supporting their mental health needs.

Dr. Brittainy Erby was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a graduate of Ohio University Class of 2013 in Athens, Ohio. She graduated from this institution Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in psychology. Dr. Erby obtained her medical degree at the Boonshoft School of Medicine through Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, in 2017. She then moved to Charleston, SC, where she completed her residency in General Psychiatry and her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the Institute of Psychiatry here at the Medical University of South Carolina. After completing her training, she became a faculty and staff member in 2022. Dr. Erby specializes in seeing children, adolescents, and some adults. Dr. Erby is board certified in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She also is a member of the South Carolina Psychiatry Association, American Psychiatric Association, and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She enjoys fitness-related activities, attending church, music, traveling, and community service.

In 1995, Dr. Mark George, a South Carolina native, returned to Charleston and built a campus-wide research brain imaging division and the brain stimulation laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry. As an undergraduate student in philosophy at Davidson College, Dr. George began studying the relationship between mind and brain, or brain/behavior relationships. He has continued this interest throughout his career with a focus on using brain imaging and brain stimulation to understand depression and devise new treatments. He received his medical degree from MUSC in 1985, where he continued with dual residencies in both neurology and psychiatry. He is board certified in both areas.Following his residency training he worked for one year (from 1990 to 1991) at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, England. He then moved to Washington, DC, working in the Intramural National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). He was one of the first to use functional brain imaging during normal emotions as well as in depression and mania. He has grown the science of brain stimulation, both in terms of how the treatments work in the brain, and in critically evaluating their therapeutic applications, especially in treating depression. He may be unique in being the only living neuroscientist with two FDA approved treatments that stem from their work. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was FDA approved for treating depression in October, 2008. In June 1998 at MUSC, he also pioneered another new treatment for resistant depression, vagus nerve stimulation (VNS). This was FDA approved in 2006. Dr. George is a world expert in brain stimulation, and depression, and is the editor-in-chief of a journal he launched with Elsevier in 2008 called, Brain Stimulation: Basic, Translation and Clinical Research in Neuromodulation. He has been continuously funded by NIH and other funding agencies since his fellowships. He has received numerous national and international awards. In 2009 U.S. News and World Report named him one of 14 'medical pioneers who are not holding back'. He has published over 400 scientific articles or book chapters, and has written or edited six books.

Dr. Laura Seiverling is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Before seeing patients at MUSC, she worked at an intensive interdisciplinary day patient feeding program in New York, serving as both psychologist and clinical supervisor. In addition to her current position, she holds an Associate Teaching Professor position at Ball State University and teaches online graduate and undergraduate courses in applied behavior analysis. Dr. Seiverling has over fifteen years of experience providing treatment for feeding and other behaviors in children. She has published over thirty articles and book chapters on feeding problems, autism spectrum disorder, staff and parent training, and behavioral interventions. Dr. Melissa Milanak is a licensed clinical psychologist and an instructor in the sleep and anxiety treatment and research program (SATRP) as well as the associate director for continuing education in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC. She received her doctorate in clinical and community psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completed her internship through the Charleston Consortium at MUSC, and completed a two-year NIMH research postdoctoral fellowship at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center (NCVC) at MUSC. Her current work focuses on the nature of etiology and treatment of PTSD and comorbid sleep disorders as well as examining how sleep can play a role in the onset, maintenance, and/or prevention of PTSD. She also has conducted significant research examining the relationship between PTSD symptoms factors and the processing of emotional information, both in the United States as well as in Northern Ireland.Dr. Milanak supervises clinical trainees in the SATRP, supervises PGY-3's in CBT techniques, and serves as one of the faculty advisors for the medical student psychiatry interest group (SPIG).

Dr. Sara Witcraft (she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Women's Reproductive Behavioral Health clinic at MUSC, which serves patients who are pregnant and up to one year postpartum. Dr. Witcraft provides therapy to pregnant and postpartum people with mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and insomnia. She has a particular interest in working with pregnant and parenting women and people with opioid use disorder. Dr. Witcraft earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi, where she received extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related approaches, including mindfulness- and acceptance-based strategies, for adults with anxiety disorders, depression, and substance use disorders. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at MUSC. During her fellowship, she received training in gold-standard interventions for posttraumatic stress disorder, including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Dr. Witcraft primarily uses a cognitive-behavioral approach in her clinical practice, and frequently incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. Dr. Witcraft uses a patient-centered approach and collaboratively develops an individualized treatment plan with her patients that will help them meet their therapy goals.

Dr. Erin Hayes is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Hayes has various clinical interests in adult and child psychiatry, transgender mental health, psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and care of young adults. She is the staff psychiatrist for the MUSC National Crime Victims Center. Dr. Hayes received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa School of Community Medicine. Dr. Hayes completed her internship in psychiatry at Georgetown University, and both her psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic. As a medical student she was recognized through peer-nomination to the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Christina Tolbert is a board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Tolbert received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her internship, residency, and child and adolescent fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has a wide range of interests including youth and perinatal psychiatry and has spent some time as an Attending Psychiatrist working as a collaborative care consultant and a consult- liaison psychiatrist for the MUSC Center for Telehealth. Within child and adolescent psychiatry, she currently provides medication management in the treatment of ADHD, mood, anxiety and trauma-related disorders through the MUSC School- Based Telehealth Clinic and the MUSC Children's Day Treatment Program (STAR) in North Charleston, SC.

Dr. Thomas Lewis is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He also completed his medical school and residency training in general psychiatry at MUSC. He then went on to complete an addiction psychiatry fellowship and a forensic psychiatry fellowship. In his current role, Dr. Lewis is the attending physician on the addictions inpatient unit at the MUSC Institute of Psychiatry. He also serves as the forensic psychiatry fellowship director. Dr. Lewis has been recognized as an expert witness in forensic psychiatry by the South Carolina court of general sessions. He also conducts forensic evaluations and has provided psychiatric treatment to inmates within the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Dr. Lewis is involved in organizational psychiatry. He is a South Carolina American Psychiatric Association Assembly representative and a national membership committee member. Dr. Lewis has also served as President of the South Carolina Psychiatric Association, the only state-wide association for psychiatric physicians in South Carolina, representing over 400 members.

Emily Bay received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. She completed a combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Interventional Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. After fellowship, Dr. Bay has remained at MUSC as faculty. Her areas of interest include electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and ketamine for the treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions.

Dr. Jennifer Dahne received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2016. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina/Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and her postdoctoral fellowship via MUSC's National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) T32 training program. Dr. Dahne subsequently joined the MUSC faculty in 2018 and she is currently an Associate Professor, affiliated both with the Addiction Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry and with the Hollings Cancer Center, Cancer Control Program. The overarching goal of Dr. Dahne's research program is to significantly reduce the public health impact of tobacco use, with a specific focus on cigarette smoking among vulnerable populations (e.g. socioeconomically disadvantaged adults, individuals with additional physical and mental health comorbidities). The majority of Dr. Dahne's work centers around development and evaluation of technology-based remote interventions for the treatment of smoking cessation and common comorbidities (e.g. depression). Dr. Dahne also currently serves as Co-Director of MUSC's Remote & Virtual Trials Program and has interests in developing methods to improve the feasibility and rigor of remote trials. Dr. Dahne is a current NIDA K23 recipient and is also PI of a NIDA-funded R41, a National Cancer Institute-funded R21, and a National Institute of Mental Health-funded R42. She is also an active collaborator on several NIH-funded projects focused on smoking cessation and telehealth intervention delivery.

D. Brian Haver is a clinical psychologist with extensive specialization in clinical health psychology. He received his doctor of psychology (PsyD) degree in clinical psychology from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, along with master's degrees in clinical health psychology and public health. He completed a predoctoral internship in health psychology at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, Michigan, with rotations in transplant surgery, internal medicine/primary care, and outpatient mental health. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Medicine at MUSC, with an additional year of specialization in the evaluation and treatment of patients in the organ transplant process. ,After Dr. Haver's experience as a postdoc at MUSC, he enthusiastically joined the faculty as an instructor to continue his clinical work. Dr. Haver is currently seeing patients in the Division of BioBehavioral Medicine. He conducts presurgical evaluations for spinal surgeries and solid organ transplants. He works with patients who are experiencing various medical conditions, such as end-stage organ disease, to assist them with adjusting to chronic illness

Dr. John Danaher, DO is a Child \& Adolescent Psychiatrist. Originally from the midwest, he completed his medical school training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, residency through University of Missouri Kansas City, and fellowship through the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Danaher values his osteopathic principles to take a "whole body and family" approach to treatments strategies. His special interested in the field include the overlap of youth sports and psychiatry as well as various therapy approaches.

Dr. Baron Short completed his BS in biology from the University of South Carolina Honors College in 1996 and his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001. In 2006 he finished his dual residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at MUSC and joined the faculty as assistant professor with dual appointments in the Departments of Internal Medicine and the Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. His clinical and research interests include medical illnesses, co-morbid mood disorders, and brain stimulation technologies. He started the Master's of Science in Clinical Research with the intent of pursuing clinical translational work of novel brain stimulation techniques for the treatment of depression and depressive symptomatology found in oncological, rheumatological and cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Adrienne Pruitt is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. She earned a B.S. in psychology at Davidson College. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she served as chief fellow. After fellowship, she was an attending physician at MUSC and has also worked with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Her current role is an attending physician on the child and adolescent psychiatry unit at the Institute of Psychiatry.

Dr. Rachel Getzenberg is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at MUSC. Dr. Getzenberg received a bachelor's degree in psychology from George Washington University before receiving her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She then completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Getzenberg has a strong interest in treating mental health conditions of young people, especially kids and teenagers with medical illnesses. She enjoys spending time outside with her family and dog.

Dr. Alexis Garcia is a bilingual (fluent in Spanish) clinical psychologist who specializes in evidence-based treatments for children with disruptive behavior disorders. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Florida International University with a specialty in child and adolescent psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at MUSC within the Child Track. After internship, Dr. Garcia was selected to be a National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) postdoctoral fellow where she studied adolescent alcohol use. She joined the MUSC faculty as a clinical assistant professor in July 2021. Dr. Garcia provides mental health and substance use treatment at the Institute of Psychiatry. Her clinical expertise is in evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral and emotional concerns such as attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), and substance use. Dr. Garcia has a particular expertise in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), which is primarily for young children with disruptive behavior problems. Dr. Garcia also provides treatment to youth experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties due to complex medical conditions (i.e., diabetes, GI problems, cancer). As part of the MUSC Youth Collaborative, Dr. Garcia is involved in various research efforts to understand the role of self-regulation in problematic substance use during adolescence. Specifically, Dr. Garcia's research endeavors focus on role of emotion dysfunction in adolescents with ADHD and how that relates to risk-taking behaviors like alcohol and other substance use. She is an active mentor of psychology interns and psychiatry fellows at MUSC.

Dr. Ethan Ashley is originally from Dallas, Texas but completed his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Public Health from the University of Georgia Honors College in 2013 and then returned to Texas to complete his M.D. from Texas A\&M University College of Medicine in 2017. He then moved to Charleston for his residency training in Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also served as chief resident. After finishing his residency in 2021, he joined the faculty at MUSC as an Assistant Professor. He worked in the Institute of Psychiatry Adult Inpatient unit for two years, where he treated a variety of mood/anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders while also supervising residents and medical students. He then joined the Brain Stimulation Laboratory Division in the Department of Psychiatry in 2023. As a member of the Brain Stimulation team, he provides different brain stimulation treatments for various psychiatric disorders, such as treatment-resistant depression. These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). He continues to also treat patients on the adult inpatient unit at the IOP while supervising residents and 3^rd^ and 4th-year medical students.

Dr. Steele received her Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature in English, French, Italian, and Greek from Wellesley College. She then worked as a youth director in the Episcopal Church and a teacher with Teach For America before attending medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed a residency in general psychiatry, serving as a Chief Resident in her fourth year, and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Her current role at MUSC is performing acute psychiatric assessments in the emergency department and seeing cadets for outpatient psychiatric care and crisis appointments as medical director of the Citadel Counseling Center.

Dr. Laura G. McCabe is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with additional training in forensic psychiatry. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and treating a range of diagnoses. She has a special interest in working with patients with mood and psychotic disorders, and she enjoys helping patients gain stability during times of crisis. Dr. McCabe graduated with her B.S. in neuroscience from Tulane University. She earned her medical degree from MUSC before moving to Louisiana for residency. She completed her psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. During residency, Dr. McCabe was recognized for her outstanding clinical skills and dedication to patient care. She received the Roger Hatchette Award for Excellence in Emergency Psychiatry as well as the LSU Department of Psychiatry Award for Excellence in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. After residency, Dr. McCabe moved back to South Carolina and completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. During her fellowship, she gained experience working on a variety of civil and criminal psychiatric cases, including risk assessments, disability cases, and fitness for duty evaluations. Dr. McCabe is a clinical assistant professor in the Psychiatry Hospitalist Division of the MUSC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Amanda Roten is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her internship, residency, and child and adolescent fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following training, Dr. Roten worked at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health where she was involved in the telepsychiatry program. Within child and adolescent psychiatry, she has a wide range of interests and enjoys working with a variety of psychiatric disorders including ADHD, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
