Dr. Michelle Hudspeth is a 1999 graduate of the MUSC College of Medicine and completed her residency, chief residency, and fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and the National Cancer Institute. She is the division chief for pediatric hematology/oncology and is the director of the pediatric blood and marrow transplant program and the quality director for the combined adult and pediatric blood and marrow transplant program. Her main clinical focus is transplantation, including haploidentical, related and unrelated allogeneic, cord blood, and autologous donor sources. She is the institutional principal investigator for Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium trials. She is a member of the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium GVHD committee and supportive care committee. She also serves on several working committees (GVHD, pediatric cancer, immune deficiencies/inborn errors of metabolism) for the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research. Her clinical research includes multiple aspects of transplantation, including a clinical trial incorporating pravastatin for matched related donor transplants for sickle cell disease.

Dr. Joseph Caveney is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Before joining MUSC, Dr. Caveney was on faculty at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY and an attending physician at the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at HonorHealth in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Caveney completed much of his medical training in his home state at West Virginia University School of Medicine, including medical school, internal medicine residency and a hematology/oncology fellowship. He further subspecialized with an advanced BMT-CT fellowship focused on hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy at Stanford University. He is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. Dr. Caveney's area of expertise is transplant and cellular therapy, particularly allogeneic/autologous transplantation, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T-cell engager (TCE) therapy. He looks forward to serving the patients of MUSC with rapidly expanding treatment indications in cellular therapy and exciting advances in blood and marrow transplantation.

Her focus on Intensive Care specialized to that of Neuroscience when she joined the Medical University of South Carolina family in March of 2018. Here at MUSC she expanded her knowledge to many different Adult Intensive Care specialties along with working in Pediatrics through the Infusion Clinic, Urgent Care and Allergy/Immunology Clinic at MUSC Summey Medical Pavilion. During her pursuit of a master's degree, Madison transitioned to travel nursing in 2021 to bring new perspective and challenge. This took her to North Carolina and eventually to California where she accepted her first position as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at MinuteClinic, an urgent care-type setting after graduating and becoming board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. After growing as a new practitioner and gaining much knowledge and experience, Madison decided to make Charleston home again and is excited to start this new journey caring for oncology patients within the MUSC community by joining the infusion team at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center.
