MUSC Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine - Chester

Mamie Henshaw is a Virginia native who moved to South Carolina to pursue her undergraduate degree at Coastal Carolina University, where she studied exercise and sport science. During this time, she gained valuable clinical experience working in a local orthopedic office and volunteering at a children's inpatient behavioral health center. Mamie went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia, graduating in 2022. She began her career in urology, working alongside skilled physicians in the operating room, hospital setting, and outpatient clinic. She also brings experience from the emergency department in Charlotte, where she practiced for two years prior to joining MUSC Health. Mamie is honored and excited to be part of the Orthopaedics team at MUSC Health Chester, where she is committed to expanding access to high-quality care for patients across the Catawba region. After graduating she began her journey in urology working alongside talented urologists in the operating room, the hospital system and in clinic. She has also worked in the emergency department in Charlotte for 2 years prior to joining MUSC. She is honored and excited to join the orthopedics team at MUSC Chester to further support care and better access to the patients of the Catawba region. In her free time, Mamie enjoys going to the beach, playing pickleball, reading a good book or spending time with friends and family.
