She completed her undergraduate work at Princeton University, earning a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and a certificate in Spanish. After spending a year teaching high school with Americorps in Los Angeles, she attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Briones then completed residency training in Internal Medicine at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. She worked on faculty at MUSC and UNC Chapel Hill before moving to Charlotte. In Charlotte, she has worked for Atrium and Tryon Medical Partners before joining MUSC. Dr. Briones aims to provide her patients with comprehensive preventative care and encourages her patients to optimize lifestyle factors that impact their health.

Dr. Alicia Reams is a highly accomplished, board-certified internal medicine physician with over a decade of experience in outpatient and inpatient care. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) after previously obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from MUSC and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from Winthrop University. Following her medical education, she completed her residency and internship at MUSC, further solidifying her expertise in internal medicine. Dr. Reams is currently practicing at MUSC Health Primary Care - Bridgemill in Indian Land, SC, where she provides exceptional patient care. Prior to this role, she served as an Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician at Tryon Medical Partners in Charlotte, NC, where she also held a leadership position as the Medical Site Director at Steele Creek. Her previous experience includes working with Mecklenburg Medical Group and as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at MUSC. Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Reams has earned recognition as a Top Doctor by both Business North Carolina (2021, 2022) and Charlotte Magazine (2023, 2024). She is an active member of the American College of Physicians, reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical excellence. In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Reams engages in her community through volunteer work with the Girl Scouts Hornets' Nest, where she has served as a troop leader and co-leader. Dr. Reams brings a wealth of experience, compassionate care, and a strong dedication to her patients and community leadership.
