Dr. Matthew Kohler joined MUSC Women's Care as a gynecologist oncologist in 1998 and now serves as the director of the division of MUSC gynecology oncology. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology, and gynecologic oncology. His specialties include radical and minimally invasive (robotic) surgery for gynecologic cancers, chemotherapy, and gestational trophoblastic disease. Dr. Kohler received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, then went on to Duke University for his medical degree, residency, and a gynecology oncology fellowship.

Dr. Michael Bobian is a dedicated and experienced Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgeon at the Medical University of South Carolina. He specializes in caring for patients with tumors involving the head and neck, including the throat, tonsils, mouth, jaw, voice box, skin, sinuses, skull base, thyroid, and salivary glands. He is adept at using minimally invasive and robotic techniques and has unique training in whole body and head and neck reconstruction with expertise in microvascular reconstruction, also known as free flaps. Dr. Bobian graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Michigan Technological University and completed his medical school training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in inner-city Detroit, MI, where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in Charleston, SC at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded Head and Neck Resident of the Year. He gained further training through fellowships in head and neck surgical oncology and whole-body microvascular reconstruction at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Now, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Bobian brings his experience back to South Carolina. In addition to his clinical focus, he is committed to the education of surgical Otolaryngology residents and fellows, and research. His research interests include pre-surgery chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy for patients afflicted with advanced oropharyngeal and skin cancers, and in maximizing and restoring function, and minimizing morbidity following free flap reconstruction in the head and neck. His research has been supported by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Foundation and he has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and is credentialed by the American Head and Neck Society to perform transoral robotic surgery. Dr. Bobian utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach whenever possible, working closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, dermatologists, endocrinologists, speech pathologists, maxillofacial prosthetists, dentists, oral surgeons, neurosurgeons, thoracic surgeons, and other otolaryngologists to develop a tailored and unique treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Eric Edds is a diagnostic radiologist, and practices general radiology with a special interest in ultrasound and nonvascular interventional procedures. Dr. Edds is a third-generation physician. His grandfather served as a general practice physician in a small Kentucky town, providing comprehensive care to patients throughout all stages of life-from conducting deliveries to offering end-of-life support. While in a different specialty, Dr. Edds shares his grandfather's love of caring for patients of all ages, from reading prenatal ultrasounds, to pediatric and adolescent imaging, to adult and geriatric care. He especially enjoys inpatient and ER work, providing care to patients in acute need, as well as performing imaging guided procedures. His greatest compliments are "I didn't feel a thing" after a successful procedure and "really good pick up" on a difficult exam. Dr. Edds completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology, the imaging of bones, joints, muscles and supporting structures. Working closely with orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians, he has been the preferred radiologist for college athletes, high school athletes, and weekend warriors. He also is expert in reading imaging relating to degenerative joint disease and common aches and pains, and providing imaging guided procedures to relieve this pain. Dr. Edds is honored and looks forward to serving the South Carolina community, his hospitals and referring clinicians, and most importantly the patients who entrust him with their care.

He further specialized in musculoskeletal imaging through a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he gained advanced skills in interpreting complex images and providing critical insights for patient management. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has remained committed to staying at the forefront of radiology, ensuring he uses the latest techniques and technologies to provide the most reliable diagnostic services. Heather N. Simpson, M.D. is a transplant hepatologist and has been practicing as an Assistant Professor since 2013. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology. Dr. Simpson completed her undergraduate and medical school at Saint Louis University and graduated with her M.D. in 2005. She did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. She obtained a gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then elected to pursue a year of additional training in transplant hepatology at the University of Michigan which she completed in 2013. Dr. Simpson belongs to several professional societies including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Society for Transplantation, and the International Liver Cancer Association. Her areas of expertise include management of all general liver diseases such as viral hepatitis B \& C, autoimmune liver disease, PBC, PSC, alcoholic liver disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, as well as the management of complications from cirrhosis. She has particular interests in the treatment of hepatocellular cancer and liver transplantation.
