Kristen Ann Lancaster, M.D., FAAP

About
Dr. Kristen Lancaster is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Genetics and Director of Medical Genetics Education. She is double board-certified in Clinical Genetics and General Pediatrics.
Dr. Lancaster attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, followed by a Pediatric residency and Chief residency at the University of Texas Southwestern. She completed a fellowship in Medical Genetics and Genomics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has received additional training in advocacy and policy through the American Society of Human Genetics and in medical education through the UNC Academy of Educators.
Dr. Lancaster has a passion for the care of patients and families with rare diseases. Her clinical interests include craniofacial differences, congenital anomalies (birth defects), chromosomal disorders, skeletal dysplasias, and vascular anomalies.

Lauren Thompson, D.O.
Pediatric Genetics
About
Dr. Lauren Thompson is a clinical and medical biochemical geneticist. She earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Thompson completed a combined residency program in pediatrics and medical genetics at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center - Rainbow Babies Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She then pursued a fellowship in medical biochemical genetics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Her clinical interests include inborn errors of metabolism and medical education.
Dr. Thompson is board-certified in clinical genetics, medical biochemical genetics, and general pediatrics. She has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents at national medical conferences. She currently serves as Director of Genetic Inpatient Services and the Rapid Sequencing Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and as Vice Chair of the Education \& Continuing Professional Development Committee for the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG). Dr. Thompson is deeply committed to medical education and is actively involved in teaching residents, medical students, and genetic counseling students.
