Megan Victoria Yanik, MD

About
Dr. Megan Yanik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at MUSC, and she is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Nephrology and General Pediatrics. Dr. Yanik earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and she completed her Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Nephrology fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also completed a Master of Science in Public Health at UAB.
Dr. Yanik specializes in treating children who need a kidney transplant, and she serves as the Medical Director for the Pediatric Kidney Transplant program at MUSC. Dr. Yanik also enjoys taking care of children with a variety of kidney diseases including glomerular diseases, congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension. Dr. Yanik values strong relationships with her patients and their families, and she seeks to improve care for patients through quality improvement work.

David Selewski, M.D., MS

David Selewski, MD, MS, completed his pediatric residency in 2008 and pediatric nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2011. After completing his fellowship training, he went on to receive a Masters in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan in 2013. After 8 years on staff at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital as a pediatric nephrologist, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina to practice at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he now practices as a pediatric nephrologist. His clinical and research interests include pediatric \& neonatal critical care nephrology including pediatric \& neonatal acute kidney injury, fluid overload, and continuous renal replacement therapy. My research focuses on critical care nephrology in neonates and pediatric patients. This work includes participation in multicenter research collaboratives focused on AKI in a variety of populations including the Neonatal Kidney Collaborative (NKC), Kidney Interventions During Membrane Oxygenation (KIDMO) study group, Worldwide Exploration of Renal Replacement Outcomes Collaboration in Kidney Diseases (We-Rock) study group, and the Neonatal and Pediatric Heart and Renal Outcomes Network (NEPHRON) study group. Dr. Selewski currently sits on the steering committee for the NKC, KIDMO study group, WE-ROCK study group and the NEPHRON study.

Anita Tambay Perez, M.D.

Dr. Perez has extensive experience working with diverse and under-served populations. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to, management of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, nephrotic syndrome and global health. She enjoys creating relationships with patients and their families, while conducting quality improvement research to improve patient care.

Katherine Elizabeth Twombley, M.D.

Katherine Twombley is a professor with tenure in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. She is the chief of pediatric nephrology and the medical director of the Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program. She is also the medical director of the Acute Dialysis Units in the MUSC Charleston Healthcare System. She is very active in the American Society of Transplantation and she is the chair of the Pediatric Community of Practice and a member of the Translational Grants Review Committee. She is also the past chair of the Education Committee and past council member with the International Pediatric Transplantation Association.
Her research has focused on AMR and she is currently one of the lead PIs on the PARAMOUr "PediAtric Renal AMr Outcomes" Study that has to date enrolled \>120 pediatric patients with antibody mediated rejection which will be the largest study to date. She is also one of a few experts in pediatric Lipopheresis therapy for recurrent focal segmental glomerulonephrosis. Her international recognition recently allowed her the opportunity to be the sole editor of a brand new text book called "Challenges in Pediatric Kidney Transplantation", which is the first of it's kind.
