Pediatric Urology

About

Dr. Crigger is a reconstructive pediatric urologist who cares for children with complex conditions of the bladder, kidneys, and urinary tract. His clinical interests include bladder exstrophy and epispadias, complex urinary and genital reconstruction, disorders of sexual development, and supporting lifelong urinary health from infancy through adulthood. Dr. Crigger is nationally recognized for his experience in bladder exstrophy and reconstructive surgery. He completed advanced fellowship training at Johns Hopkins, where he trained under Dr. John P. Gearhart, a world leader in exstrophy care. There, he treated children from across the United States and internationally, gaining experience in both initial repairs and complex reoperations. He also developed expertise in transitional urology working with Dr. Heather Di Carlo, allowing him to care for patients with congenital conditions as they move from childhood into adulthood. A central focus of Dr. Crigger's practice is making surgery safer and less invasive whenever possible. He is experienced in robotic-assisted pediatric urologic surgery and works to adapt proven reconstructive techniques to the robotic platform when safe and appropriate. Dr. Crigger is an active surgeon-scientist with nearly 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focused on improving outcomes and reducing the long-term burden of surgery. His work has been presented nationally and internationally, including Abu Dhabi, Brussels, and Vienna. He earned his medical degree from Marshall University, completed his urology residency at West Virginia University, and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins, where he began his academic career as Director of Pediatric Urology Research and Pediatric Urology Robotic Surgery. Dr. Crigger believes in clear communication, compassion, and partnership with families. His goal is simple: to deliver world-class reconstructive and robotic care while treating every child as if they were his own.
