The Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases program at MUSC Health diagnoses and treats patients with problems related to Diabetes mellitus, Graves' Eye Disease, Hypoglycemia, Thyroid disorders, Calcium-phosphorous metabolism Osteoporosis, and Pituitary-adrenal-gonadal disorders. Complete diabetic education courses are offered. Nurses and nutritionists are integral components of this program. This program and the related practices and services provide staff and facilities for sophisticated evaluation and treatment of metabolic and endocrine disorders.

About

Lanie Dreyer, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in endocrinology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2017 and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2023. With nearly seven years of experience as a registered nurse, primarily in pediatric bedside nursing, she transitioned to her current role upon completing her DNP. Employed by MUSC since 2019, she joined the Endocrinology Division in January 2024. Specializing in diabetes management for both inpatient and outpatient settings, she intends to pursue her Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification in the upcoming year to enhance her ability to provide compassionate care to her patient population.
