MUSC Health's new Pediatrics and Internal Medicine ("Med-Peds") clinic is now open in North Charleston! We are accepting new patients for both internal medicine (adults 18 and older) and pediatrics (children 18 and under).
The practice is staffed by primary care physician Dr. Nathalie Malcolm, who is dual-board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine to provide comprehensive health care for all ages, from newborns to older adults. Our care team is dedicated to working with you at every step of your or your family's health and wellness journey.
Resident Physicians Are accepting new patients. As part of the Medical University of South Carolina academic medical center, you may be seen by resident physicians ("residents"). All resident doctors are accepting new patients. Our residents are doctors who have completed medical school and are pursuing specialized training in pediatrics and internal medicine. Medical students may also be in the clinic alongside residents and attendings.

Dr. Nathalie Malcolm is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received both her undergraduate and medical degrees at Louisiana State University. She completed her residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the combined specialty of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds).After her residency, Dr. Malcolm joined the Dantzler Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clinic affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in North Charleston, SC. As a dual-board certified pediatrician and internist, she cares for patients of all ages and backgrounds- from newborns to senior citizens. Dr. Malcolm takes pride in her role as a preceptor to the medical residents at MUSC who are lucky enough to learn from her. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. Special medical interests include pediatric and adult hypertension, obesity medicine, and fitness. She also counsels patients on various forms of birth control, including administration of Nexplanon. (Note, intrauterine devices are not inserted at this practice.) Dr. Malcolm enjoys reading, discussing pop-culture factoids, and travel in her spare time.

Dr. Jacob Vaught is originally from Williamsburg, Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree at Radford University and completed medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He went on to complete his residency training in the combined specialty of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds) at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine.
After residency, Dr. Vaught joined MUSC's Internal Medicine and Pediatrics clinic, where he enjoys caring for patients across all stages of life-from newborns to older adults. He is board-eligible in both internal medicine and pediatrics and is passionate about building long-term relationships with his patients and families.
Dr. Vaught's clinical interests include hospital medicine, point-of-care ultrasound, and global health. He has served in medical outreach programs across Central America, Africa, and South Asia and continues to be involved in medical education and community health initiatives.

Lauren B Fogelgren, MSPAS, PA-C is a Pediatric provider in Charleston, SC. She grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended The University of Georgia for her undergraduate studies. She went on to graduate with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The Medical College of Georgia. She began her career in Bronx, NY at Children's Hospital at Montefiore, and the past decade at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
In addition to Lauren's clinical role, she is an instructor with MUSC's Physician Assistant program. Her clinical interests include caring for sick children, hematology, oncology, and improved access to care. Lauren's goal is to provide evidence-based care, while keeping the patient's quality of life in mind.
