Our Family Medicine providers provide comprehensive health care for patients of all ages at this practice conveniently located near Old Trolley Road and Ladson Road. Your provider will see you for routine wellness and preventive care appointments and can guide you through diagnosis and treatment planning for a range of diseases and conditions. Your provider will serve as a liaison between any other health care providers and specialists you may see.

Heidi L. Tatum, MPAS, PA-C, grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Charleston, SC in 2005 after receiving her Masters of Physician Assistant from Duquesne University. Since then she has worked in various areas of the medical field including urgent care, emergency medicine and family practice. She actually worked at the Springview location from June 2007 to October 2015 with Palmetto Primary Care treating patients of all ages. Her passion has always been in family practice, so she returned in September 2018 now working with MUSC. Heidi loves treating women's health, diabetes, and has a knack for wound care. Heidi also loves giving back to her profession and finds it imperative to find time for new and upcoming physician assistants. That is why you will often find physician assistant students in the clinic with her. Heidi's goal is to treat patients with the same care and compassion as she would use to treat her own family members. She wants patients to feel comfortable and confident in the care she is providing.

Cherika Gadson is a family nurse practitioner who provides primary care services for the whole family, starting at age six through geriatric ages. Cherika was born and raised in South Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Charleston Southern University in 2005. In 2009, she received a Master of Science in Human Movement and Exercise Science. Cherika then went on to Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia in 2012 where she received a second Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2015. Her approach is to treat the whole person, not just the illness.
