Dr. Haas is a board-eligible neurosurgeon who specializes in spinal pain and disorders. Trained in all aspects of brain and spine surgery, Dr. Haas has a particular focus on treatment of back and neck pain, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and herniated discs. Dr. Haas received his MD from the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine. After completing his residency training at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, he joined the USF Health Department of Neurosurgery team as an expert physician. Dr. Haas is committed to excellence in patient care, research, and education. He collaborates with a well-trained multidisciplinary team, which includes nurse practitioners, physical therapists and pain management physicians to help deliver the best care for his patients. In addition to providing high quality, compassionate care at USF Health, Dr. Haas is also a physician at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, caring for those who served in our nation's military and training the next generation of neurosurgeons.

I would recommend Dr. Haas to anyone who needs this type of doctor, he is the best to me. He was Godsent when I needed him the most, when no other Dr would do my surgery because I was a high risk patient, and none of the other doctors wanted to touch me, but he said, I'll do it, and he did an awesome job. You can't even see the scar on my neck. So I tell people, he's the best.

You need to have excellent choice when you are grading Dr Hass! He is an excellent example of what a caring, giving, kind and very knowledgeable professional whom sets the highest standards in his expertise. It would be impossible for me to ever find another physician of his caliber.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Haas. He knew what was wrong with me and gave me options on how I could be fixed. I found Dr Haas to be easily relatable. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and humorous. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation. I think that he embodies all the characteristics that a physician should have.

Dr. Haas is nothing short of extraordinary. He was so patient and kind. He listened so intently and asked a lot of very good follow-up questions. He never, ever made me feel rushed or that any of my questions or concerns were beneath him taking the time to explain. I could not possibly recommend him more highly. He is obviously excellent at his job, but he's also a very good educator in that he wanted me to understand exactly what is wrong with my neck and what potentially could be fixed, someday, but I also appreciated his cautious approach of wanting me to exhaust all other options, i e physical therapy, injections, medications, etc before the life-changing decision of cutting the open to do surgery on my neck. I just appreciated his relaxed demeanor and his attentiveness yo my unique situation. He took detailed notes and treated me as an individual. What an enormous asset to USF and the TGH team. I wish more doctors were like him.
