Colin Blumenthal, M.D., MS

Dr. Colin Blumenthal is an academic cardiac electrophysiologist dedicated to providing advanced care for patients with heart rhythm disorders. He believes strongly in a patient-centered approach, prioritizing the time needed to sit down with his patients, listen to their concerns, and ensure they fully understand their diagnoses and treatment plans. In his clinical practice, Dr. Blumenthal focuses heavily on complex arrhythmia management. He specializes in complex ablation procedures, with a particular emphasis on treating premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). Additionally, he is highly skilled in the latest cardiac device therapies, including conduction system pacing and the placement of extravascular implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (EV-ICD). Dr. Blumenthal's approach to medicine is uniquely informed by his background in engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. This foundation provides him with a distinct analytical lens, driving his passion for bringing novel device technologies into the electrophysiology lab to improve patient outcomes. He earned his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by rigorous clinical fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Pennsylvania.
