In 2024, Dr. St Goar received the Andreas Gruentzig Ethics Award, which is the highest honor within the interventional cardiology community. He also received the Octane Cardiovascular Innovation Award (2024), which recognizes pioneers in cardiovascular innovation.


Dr. St Goar joined the El Camino Health team in 1991. He appreciates their unwavering commitment to optimal patient care and outcomes.


Dr. St Goar speaks conversational French and German.


Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, river kayaking, skiing and other outdoor activities.

Dr. St. Goar took his time explaining matters concerning my heart murmur.

Dr. Fred should be teaching new doctors. He is very personable. The best thing that he did besides listen, gave options, advice, was that he said, "If I was in your shoes in this situation, I would..." He is wonderful. I wish that he was my general practitioner!

Dr St Goar is an outstanding cardiologist. Unlike most of the doctors today who treats patients like a customer. He took good care of me like a patient who needs his help and guidance to survive.

Dr. St. Goar was transparent and explained everything as he probably would like it explained to him. He truly cared about me bettering myself and made it as if we would be on this journey together.
