Hampton Brooks Sasser, M.D., MSCR

*Dr. Sasser is a transplant hepatologist at MUSC. He is a native of South Carolina, having lived in Conway and Greenwood before relocating to south Florida. He attended Wake Forest University for his undergraduate education where he earned a B.S. in Biology with Minors in both Chemistry and Economics. He received his medical education from the MUSC College of Medicine and has remained at MUSC for the remainder of his medical training. Dr. Sasser completed internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and transplant hepatology fellowship at MUSC. He also served one year as an Internal Medicine Chief Resident.*

*Dr. Sasser's clinical interests include but are not limited to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and liver transplant. He also participates in medical education at MUSC with the College of Medicine, internal medicine residency program, and gastroenterology fellowship program. Dr. Sasser enjoys applying his educational background to patient care by teaching his patients about their conditions and empowering them to actively participate in their care.*
