Merlyn Thomas is a family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in nursing. With strong leadership/management skills and hands-on clinical expertise, she excels in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients. Thomas has worked as a family nurse practitioner for at least five years with Tampa General and Palm River Medical Center. Her self-directed approach and resourcefulness also has been utilized as a longtime registered nurse in Tampa General Hospital's emergency room, and transplant, telemetry and medical surgical floors.
Thomas received her Master of Science in nursing from the University of South Florida. Her nursing career started in India, where she earned a master's degree in hospital administration from Mahatma Gandhi University after completing a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Mangalore. She is a member of the Trained Nurses Association of India and the Indian Nurses Association of Central Florida.

After a year of Mrs. Thomas being my PCP I still LOVE her and I HIGHLY recommend her to everyone who is in need of a PCP.

I went in for a physical exam..I verbally told the assistant of my other things I would like addressed. She typed those in the computer. When the doctor arrived she did not respond to any of my of those concerns the appointment was useless . Also I was due for a colonoscopy, she was not helpful in me deciding on the procedure or colorguard. I felt like like I didn't matter.

Terrible bed side manor. Did not listen to my concerns nor address them. She blew off most things I mentioned and I did not feel comfortable asking about my other concerns because of her attitude. This was the worst visit I have had with a care provider to date. I would never go back to and I am considering leaving tgh all together because of her.

She didn't seem to have read the records before coming in the room. Didn't inspire confidence. I felt like I was the provider guiding her through the visit.
