Dr. Rafael Carrion is a nationally recognized urologist and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He specializes in sexual medicine and men’s health, offering expert care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
After completing a prestigious fellowship in Sexual Medicine and Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Carrion joined USF and quickly became a leader in the field. He now directs one of the nation’s top-ranked sexual medicine fellowship programs and is internationally known for his expertise in prosthetic surgery and men’s health conditions.
Dr. Carrion remains active in academic research and has published numerous medical articles, surgical videos, and textbook chapters. This dedication ensures his patients benefit from the latest advancements in urologic care.

Dr. Carrion has been the best physician experience for me, ever. That may seem exaggerated for an older man with a lifetime of experiences but, Dr. Carrion has a gift that is rare. I value this even more since it comes at at a time of my life so seriously impacted by my condition. I choose my words carefully, they are not hollow. It's obvious he genuinely cares about his patients and gives them/me a personal experience. I will also add that I have to travel across country to see him.

As I said before we talked about two ways of attacking my problem. He addressed the first one the second one he kind of just left the office and I didn't get an answer as far as what I needed to do and how the process was going to go. I was told he was going to come back and I assume that's when we were talking about the second part of the procedure but he never did. One of the assistance came in and just told me that they would call me in six months and schedule me for a year from now. I feel like I was rushed out.

He seemed more annoyed with the fact that I had three areas of pain and that the pump was sometime leaking back than with helping me. I came away with the feeling that he was just disappointed and angered with me being there than helping. He never did answer my pain questions of why or what was the cause. He said I was telling him of three different areas and were not connected and didn't make sense. He did answer my question about a pump replacement that I had conflicting answers from the two nurses.

My experience has always been wonderful with Dr. Rafael Carrion who is an Amazing Urologist. My wife and I have known him for at least 30years or more as my wife been at TGH for 37yrs and now as Senior Executive with the Leadership Team. In my humble opinion, Doctor Carrion is the ultimate best and I l've considered him as a great friend. Blessings to him and all of his staff who are awesome.

My appointment for an exploratory procedure was scheduled prior to gaining more information about the conditions present. The Dr. Noted that the procedure was not really needed given the new info and postponed it for 10 months. I appreciated the Dr's information and his concern.
