Silvia Roberta Pereira-Smith, M.D.

Dr. Silvia Pereira-Smith is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician at MUSC. She completed training in general pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, where she was presented the "Excellency in Primary Care" award at graduation. She then pursued further training in developmental-behavioral pediatrics at MUSC in Charleston, where she also actively participated in various types of research projects, including a study about elopement behavior in children with autism spectrum disorder. As part of the MUSC Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Division, Dr. Pereira-Smith provides evaluation and ongoing care for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other learning and behavioral conditions. She is trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
