Dr. Yassmeen Abdel-Aty is an Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon who received additional training in the treatment of voice, airway, and swallowing disorders. She is currently practicing at the University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital and is on faculty there.
Dr. Abdel-Aty has had a significant track record in resident and medical student education and has published papers on the subject. She has mentored trainees in research projects as well. She has served on the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery's (AAO HNS) Laryngology Education Committee. She has been an instructor in many courses including anatomy for medical students, surgical and simulation courses for residents, and airway courses for critical care providers, respiratory therapists and nurses, and the military.

Dr. Yassmeen is the very first doctor I've trusted and I am 41 yrs old. She listens to me and has learned what I'm afraid of and some how helped me understand it's temporary, after over a year of surgeries, every month to month in a half. Dr. Yassmeen gave it to me straight and I couldn't have been more grateful, yes, there were tears. Sometimes, things are hard to except. I developed PTSD after care giving for my father with a trach and a number of other health issues. I never imagined I could handle a trach mentally for my own health issues. Dr. Yassmeen knew different and she was right. The growth Dr. Yassmeen has helped me accomplish is life changing.

Dr Abdel-Aty was very informative about the procedure done to my throat. He used a scope to examine my throat and explained everything by showing me the interior of my throat. And made a plan for future therapy.

Dr Atty spent a lot of time talking to me an answering my questions. I did not feel rushed at all. Her intern and partner Dr Bessoan also worked with me through a difficult scope and they were so helpful in getting me through the procedure so they could document my condition
