Dr. Beard always shows compassion and concern. She takes the time to listen and I always leave the office feeling comforted. She is by far the best at what she does and although I hope to never have to recommend a surgical oncologist to friends and family, I would trust anyone's life in her hands. So greatful to have her as part of my care team.

And I forgot a concern I had called about a few days prior to appointment. Nurse Mary Beth stepped in to make sure it was addressed

Dr. Abigail Beard welcomed ALL QUESTIONS. And I'm a retired news reporter, so I ask many questions and want details. This was a 2-week follow up to my breast surgery. But Dr. Beard took the time to go in depth with results from the additional genetic testing on the cancer removed. She had specifics ready when I asked abou the proposed hormone suppression treatment. I had been in a quandary after talking with my oncologist on the risk-benefit ratios. Dr. Beard had the answers. She listened to all my concerns. She explained that most women confronted with these choices ask the same thing. She did not push for an immediate answer. She said there was time to decide whether or not I want to take hormone suppression therapy. She is so clear about letting you know as a patient - it is your choice. She's a remarkable surgeon. I had NO PAIN AFTER SURGERY or while healing. But her true asset is listening and letting the patient know their concerns are heard. A true healer in every sense, every definition, every professional and personal link to her patients.
