Ashley Alexander is a certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has a passion for neurological injuries and critical care. She obtained her baccalaureate degrees from the University of South Carolina-Columbia in Exercise Science and Nursing in 2005 and 2010, respectively. As an RN she gained a variety of experience across the country in ortho-trauma and as a certified surgical nurse in the operating room. In 2016 she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University. It was while at Duke, she gained the passion for neurological injuries and knew that her career would be focused in Neurocritical Care. Her clinical interests include any acute neurological injury with a special interest in the subarachnoid hemorrhage population and also the complex, multi-organ failure patients. In addition, she enjoys emergent and non-emergent bedside procedures. She is a member of several organizations and enjoys attending conferences as well. Ashley has served in several leadership roles in her career and has participated as a guest presenter and panelist member at various conferences. Additionally, her passions include nursing education, quality improvement projects and after spending several weeks in Tanzania, Africa while at Duke, global health care and education.
