Charles Nguyen, MD

Charles Nguyen, MD, is a urologic surgeon who diagnoses and treats conditions affecting the male and female urinary tract, as well as the male reproductive system. His expertise includes kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), erectile dysfunction, voiding disorders, prostate conditions and urologic cancers.

Urologic conditions can have a significant impact on a person's comfort, confidence and quality of life. Dr. Nguyen is passionate about helping people navigate these challenges and find treatments that reflect their values and priorities. "Exceptional care begins with building strong, trusting relationships," he says. "I want my patients to feel informed, supported and confident in the decisions we make together."

A Bay Area native, Dr. Nguyen came to El Camino Health for the opportunity to care for the community that shaped him. Practicing at a center of excellence allows him to stay at the forefront of urology while offering high-quality, patient-centered care.

During his training, Dr. Nguyen conducted research on urologic cancers, kidney stone disease and advances in surgical and systemic therapies. His publications appear in several peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the American Urological Association and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of his academic achievement, leadership, professionalism and service.

Dr. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese and Spanish.

Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball and volleyball.
