Dauren Adilbay, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Dauren Adilbay is a head and neck surgeon at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina, specializing in thyroid cancer, parathyroid surgery, oral cancer, salivary gland tumors, and microvascular reconstruction. With over 15 years of experience and advanced fellowship training, he provides expert, compassionate care for patients across South Carolina and the Southeast.





He completed his surgical training in Kazakhstan and Russia, followed by advanced training at world-renowned cancer centers in Milan, Paris, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He then completed a Head Neck and Microvascular Reconstruction fellowship at LSU Health Shreveport.





At MUSC, Dr. Adilbay treats, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, oral and oropharyngeal cancers (robotic surgery), laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers, salivary gland tumors sialoendoscopy, skin cancers of the face and neck, and reconstructive surgery and free flap reconstruction.





Dr. Adilbay is also a national leader in fluorescence-guided surgery and nerve imaging research, helping improve cancer detection and surgical outcomes. His work is published internationally, and he has served on the executive boards of IFHNOS and the Asian Pacific Thyroid Surgery Society.
