David Arnold Griesemer, M.D.

Dr. David Griesemer is a senior pediatric neurologist who is committed to providing careful assessment, holistic care, and appropriate education to children and teens with neurologic symptoms or neurologic disorders. He is recognized nationally for his clinical skills, especially in caring for patients with seizures, brain injuries, movement disorders, and neurometabolic problems. He has a strong interest in functional medicine and in neurosciences.Dr. Griesemer grew up in Colorado, and before starting his academic career at the University of Arizona, he worked as a physician for the U.S. Indian Health Service and the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Griesemer started the pediatric epilepsy program at the Medical University of South Carolina before later assuming leadership roles in education and administration. During an 8-year hiatus away from MUSC, he directed pediatric neurology programs in Boston, Massachusetts and in Charlotte, North Carolina.
