He received a bachelor of science from the College of Charleston in 2004 and majored in Biochemistry. He went on to study medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated in 2004 with a Doctorate of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine also at the Medical University of South Carolina. He continued his specialty training at MUSC completing his General Cardiology then Interventional Cardiology fellowships. Dr. Coker is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology and is a member of the American College of Cardiology.
