Merlyn Thomas is a family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in nursing. With strong leadership/management skills and hands-on clinical expertise, she excels in providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients. Thomas has worked as a family nurse practitioner for at least five years with Tampa General and Palm River Medical Center. Her self-directed approach and resourcefulness also has been utilized as a longtime registered nurse in Tampa General Hospital's emergency room, and transplant, telemetry and medical surgical floors.
Thomas received her Master of Science in nursing from the University of South Florida. Her nursing career started in India, where she earned a master's degree in hospital administration from Mahatma Gandhi University after completing a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Mangalore. She is a member of the Trained Nurses Association of India and the Indian Nurses Association of Central Florida.

As usual Merlyn Thomas is always friendly and attentive during the visit. She listens to everything you say and always addresses your concerns and provides guidance for actions needed. She has helped me survive my illness and I am forever in her debt!

Merlyn is amazing! As an RN myself and someone who lacks trust in healthcare providers, along with not being the most prompt/complaint with appointments, she is the first primary provider in about 15 years, I feel both comfortable and confident in seeing.

Doctor Thomas seems to be a good person. There's nothing wrong with her. However, I didn't connect with her, I had trouble undertsanding her and her demeanor was somehwhat too serious. I didn't feel my questions were adequately answered. But TGMG was really good in every other way and very timely and efficient and has blood draw on site. Plus its not a personality contest. But it did seem more like an assembly line than a family practice with a super friendly doctor to shoot the breeze with. Maybe I'm asking to much. Thank you.
