Mileka Richelle Gilbert, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Mileka Gilbert is a pediatric rheumatologist who sees children with joint pain, arthritis, lupus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, periodic fever syndrome, and fibromyalgia. She has expertise in performing steroid joint injections. She is also very interested in lupus research. Dr. Gilbert attended medical school at the University of North Carolina and also obtained a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology. She completed pediatric training at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Dr. Gilbert joined the MUSC team in 2015 after completing fellowship training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She enjoys working with children and families to provide the best care for her patients.
