Dr. Petrus is board certified in family medicine. He attended medical school at Southeastern University in North Miami Beach, Florida, where he earned his doctorate degree in osteopathy. Dr. Petrus completed his residency at Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Florida. As an undergraduate, he earned his bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Petrus is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association.

I have had the same doctor for 15-20 years. He is the same age as me which naturally makes relating to each other easier. When my sister had to find a new doctor because hers was retiring I suggested mine but she was unwilling to drive from south Tampa where we both live to north Tampa.

I would recommend Dr Petrus and his assistant to anyone they are excellent and I can't hardly even go around any doctors but they make it better with my PTSD. I have never had a better doctor than him or his assistant

Dr. Petrus is wonderful in every way! He talks to you like a normal person, he doesn't assumehe actually asks the right questions, and his approach is thorough and reassuring. However, because he is so awesome , it can be difficult to see him when I have something come up, but I schedule my annual a year in advance and hold that date sacred.

Dr. Petrus was amazing. He took the time to explain my a-fib condition, went over and explained the medications to me and what each medication treated, understood my concerns and even before I saw him, he had Lisa do an ECG right away so he had all the information he needed when he saw me. He was great in calming me down.

Dr. Petrus has, in the two visits I have had with him, answered all my questions, given me his opinion, listened to what I had to say and I thought he would be and is a great general practitioner who would advise me as to my general health. As I grow older, I want doctors to listen to what I have to say and be part of my team to search for answers. In my two visits with Dr. Petrus, he has done that for me.

I have set up an appointment for my mom to start seeing him. Dr. Petrus is kind, caring, funny and really takes his time with his patients. He makes upunfeel like he has nothing else to do but address you and your concerns when you are with him. He does NOT rush you or make you feel like he is in a hurry to get ro his next patient. As a result I was relaxed and able cover all my concerns.
