Silvia Pereira-Smith, M.D.

Silvia Pereira-Smith, M.D., FAAP is a board-certified Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the MUSC. She provides subspecialty evaluation and ongoing care for children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other learning and behavioral conditions, especially for those whom English is not their first language since she is trilingual in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. In addition to participating in various types of research projects related to neurodevelopmental disorders,





Dr. Pereira-Smith has also been involved in national-level work that disseminates training related to the impact of discrimination on child health. Leaderships roles include Deputy Director for Health Engagement for MUSC Pediatrics Department, Cultural Responsiveness and Engagement Director for South Carolina Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (SC LEND), and Executive Committee member for the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Healthy Mental Emotional Development (AAP COHMED).
