Sonali Sharma, M.D.

Dr. Sonali Sharma is an assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is an adult neurologist with special training in seizures, epilepsy diagnosis, management, and treatment. Dr. Sharma graduated from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida in 2016. From 2016 to 2020, she completed an adult neurology residency at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2020, Dr. Sharma completed a two-year fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. Finally, Dr. Sharma completed her third and final year of fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland in 2023.





Dr. Sharma's expertise includes general neurology, medical education, epilepsy management, and epilepsy surgery. Dr. Sharma's educational focus includes neurology resident and epilepsy fellow training, medical student education, and patient education and outreach. Dr. Sharma's clinical focus includes general neurology - including headache, movement disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Sharma has special training in epilepsy, specifically the diagnosis, management, and treatment of epilepsy. This includes epilepsy surgery - including phase I scalp electroencephalography, phase II stereo-electroencephalography and grids/strips, epilepsy surgical planning, intra-operative multimodal monitoring (IOM), and neuromodulation - including Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS), Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), and Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS). She is accepting new patients.
