Dr. Sylvia Clarkson is a board-certified family medicine physician who grew up in Mount Pleasant, SC. She earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. After graduating from MUSC she moved to Knoxville to complete her residency at the University of Tennessee. She and her husband then relocated back to their hometown and she joined MUSC Health Primary Care.Dr. Clarkson's interests include preventative care, women's health, chronic diseases, minor in-office procedures, sick visits, mental health, and weight loss management. She treats both pediatric and adult patients, and helps her patients to play an active role in the management of their health.
