Wahida Rahaman-Dwarika is a certified nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience and proven strengths in acute patient care, staff development and patient advocacy. Dedicated and patient-focused, she has exceptional ability to deliver positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment while simultaneously building productive relationships.

Wahida has dedicated her career to treating patients in the Tampa Bay area community as a family nurse practitioner and in numerous nursing roles with Tampa General Hospital. She has been recognized for providing worldclass care with the Nurse of the Year Award in 2003 and the James Cullison Award for Nursing Compassion in 2005.

Graduating cum laude, Wahida earned her Master of Science in nursing, with a family nurse practitioner specialty, and a bachelor's degree in nursing, both from Chamberlain University in Chicago. She is affiliated with the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and her clinical interests include evidence-based research and quality improvement projects. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, along with gardening and other outdoor activities.

I felt like as someone who was establishing care with this provider for the first time, she was just uninterested. I came with concerns which were not really evaluated or discussed but just referred me to a specialist, looked at labs from a year ago from another provider and decided that was sufficient and didn't need any more. I just didn't feel very good leaving especially after waiting almost a year for this appointment.

I am very pleased with my provider! She is detailed and listens to all my concerns, even the tiniest details I give. Wahida then takes all of that information and takes her time to come up with a care plan that works for me to get to the care plan goals.

I love being under Wahida's care as she shows me how important it is to resolve any issues I may have. I expressed my concerns with my current psychiatric team and she immediately placed a referral for a psychiatrist i could see outside of my current one. Just so i can get a full evaluation. She listened to my concerns about my memory and speech issues and wanted me to follow up with the psychiatrist and neurology as it was concerning. When i first started seeing her i mentioned my weight being a concern of mine. She took the time to go through the pro's and con's of either taking medicine or getting bariatric surgery. She walked me through each step and I was able to get the surgery thanks to her and the bariatric team.
