William Charles, M.D.

Dr. William Charles, MD, MBA is a board-certified medical oncologist with more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and lung cancers. Dr. Charles specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and cancers involving the brain and spine. He works closely with patients and families to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate the latest advances in medical oncology, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and supportive care. As Director of Hematology and Oncology at MUSC Health, he is committed to expanding access to high-quality cancer care close to home for patients throughout Lancaster County, Indian Land, and the greater Charlotte region.





Dr. Charles earned his medical degree in Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology. He is board certified in Oncology and holds an MBA from Wake Forest University, equipping him with a unique blend of clinical and administrative expertise in cancer care. He has held a variety of leadership and attending roles at leading medical institutions, including Vice Director of the Oncology Division at Buena Ventura Medical Center in Ventura, California, and attending oncologist positions at Gaston Hematology \& Oncology and Novant Health Cancer Institute in North Carolina.
