Dr. Alikhani is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon with special emphasis on minimally invasive spine surgery for treatment of complex spinal disorders including scoliosis, trauma, fractures, tumor, neck and leg pain and degenerative spinal pathologies. He operates on challenging cases such as degenerative scoliosis, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, flat back deformity, chin on chest syndrome, complex cervical, and revision surgeries. He also manages patients with spinal cord tumors as well as peripheral nerve disease such as carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve entrapment. Dr. Alikhani works with a well-trained multidisciplinary team which includes nurse practitioners, physical therapists and pain management physicians to help deliver the best care for his patients. Having published several papers on minimally invasive approaches to spine surgery, Dr. Alikhani has a strong passion for teaching and is constantly involved with multiple research projects. He also lectures on spinal disorders both domestically and internationally.

Dr. Mohamed Khattab is a radiation oncologist at Tampa General Hospital and a faculty member at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Khattab specializes in treating patients with brain and spine tumors and has a unique expertise in the treatment of benign neuropsychiatric diseases and complex pain syndromes using stereotactic radiosurgery. After earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, he began his training in neurosurgery at New York University before transitioning to radiation oncology at Vanderbilt University, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Khattab is a pioneer in applying radiosurgery for benign neurologic and psychiatric conditions including treatment-resistant depression, OCD, trigeminal neuralgia, and essential tremor, offering noninvasive treatments that have gained global attention. He also has an academic interest in advanced imaging modalities to better characterize the underlying neural circuitry implicated in these diseases and how circuitry changes as patients respond to treatment.

Dr. Khattab's unique combination of neurosurgical and oncologic expertise has placed him at the forefront of innovative treatment approaches for both malignant and benign conditions applying advancements in radiotherapy treatment delivery.

Dr. Hernandez joined the USF faculty in 2009 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016. A native of Tampa, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt University and Medical School and Urology Residency at Johns Hopkins University. He has been teaching residents at University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital since 2009. Dr Hernandez uses a combination of minimally invasive and novel techniques with traditional approaches to provide patients with the best outcomes and the highest patient safety. Dr. Hernandez's areas of concentration include urologic oncology, prostate and renal malignancies, kidney stones and benign prostatic hypertrophy, as well as minimally invasive surgical treatment modalities.
