Dr. Jeffrey Lester graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor degree in finance in 1996. He returned to USF in 1997 to earn a degree in chemistry, completed in 2004. Dr. Lester attended Ross University School of Medicine and graduated with a doctor of medicine degree in June 2004. In July 2004 he started his internal medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa and became board certified in internal medicine in 2007. He completed his training in medical genetics at the University of Miami in 2009. In November 2009 Dr. Lester moved to Maryland and worked for Family Health Centers of Baltimore, a small community health center serving with the National Health Service Corps for three years treating low income, indigent patients in internal medicine. In September 2013 Dr. Lester joined the Tampa General Medical Group to open the Sun City Center location. He is a general internist and sees patients 18 years of age and older.

Dr. Akif Ahmad is a board-certified family medicine physician who has practiced in his medical specialty since 2009. Fluent in English, Hindu and Urdu, Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree from Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, where he began his medical career after graduating in 2003. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Christine Lalime is a certified physician assistant who specializes in cardiology within Tampa General Hospital's Heart & Vascular Institute. Prior to joining Tampa General, Christine served as an interventional cardiology physician assistant for more than two years at CardioVascular Solutions Institute in Bradenton, Fla. In that role, she diagnosed and treated patients with various cardiological conditions while providing them with education on diagnosis and their respective care journeys in addition to her many other patient care duties.

Before that, Christine worked as a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) clinical coordinator and a lead medical assistant for The Cardiac & Vascular Institute in Gainesville, Fla. Christine earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Florida.

During her time at UF, Christine was the first recipient of the Jodi Jones Knauf Scholarship, which supports medical and physician assistant students at the UF College of Medicine. While in PA school, Christine provided medical care to the underserved population of the Yucatan Peninsula during a weeklong mission trip.

Dr. Fraley is a board-certified general pediatrician who was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She completed her pediatric residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children Hospital at Vanderbilt University following her medical degree from Florida International University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Fraley is available for well checks and sick visits for patients from infancy through age 18 years. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, ADHD management, and childhood literacy. She is also involved in education and mentoring of medical students and residents.

Outside of work, Dr. Fraley enjoys playing tennis, watching Gator football, trying new restaurants, and spending time outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather! Her clinic is located at 17 Davis on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings.

Prior to joining Tampa General Medical Group, she worked with Hartford HealthCare as a physician assistant for Hartford Hospital's transplant surgery and trauma surgery departments. Blake-Popham began her pursuit of a career in health care at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, where she received a Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences and played varsity lacrosse. While attending Yale University School of Medicine, she completed elective clinical rotations in solid organ transplant surgery, transplant nephrology, orthopedic surgery and trauma surgery. Blake-Popham's research background includes numerous presentations for The Transplantation Society and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. In 2020, she was the recipient of a ASTS Advanced Practice Provider Research Grant.
