Dr. Hernandez joined the USF faculty in 2009 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016. A native of Tampa, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt University and Medical School and Urology Residency at Johns Hopkins University. He has been teaching residents at University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital since 2009. Dr Hernandez uses a combination of minimally invasive and novel techniques with traditional approaches to provide patients with the best outcomes and the highest patient safety. Dr. Hernandez's areas of concentration include urologic oncology, prostate and renal malignancies, kidney stones and benign prostatic hypertrophy, as well as minimally invasive surgical treatment modalities.

Dr. Ross Everett grew up in the Atlanta area. He received his undergraduate training at the University of Georgia. He then earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, as well as a Master's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Following medical school, he completed his residency program in Urology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

He subsequently went on to pursue a fellowship specializing in gender affirming surgery and reconstructive urology at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. There he was trained in both feminizing and masculinizing genital reconstruction, urethral reconstruction, erectile and incontinence prosthetics, and upper tract urinary reconstruction. He was also trained in both Xi and Single Port robotic surgery. He joined the team at University of South Florida Urology in 2022 and aims to offer high quality care that is individualized, patient-centered, and patient-affirming.

Known for his approachable and caring nature, Dr. Carrion builds strong, trust-based relationships with each patient. He currently leads the Sexual Medicine Division at USF Health, providing comprehensive care for conditions like erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and penile implants.

Dr. Trushar Patel is an Associate Professor and serves as the Vice Chairman in the Department of Urology at the University of South Florida. He is the Director of Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery, in addition to his role as the Residency Program Director. Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology at Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his urology residency at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Patel serves on several institutional, state, and national leadership committees. He is currently the highest-volume Robotic Urologic Oncologist in the Tampa Bay Region. Dr. Patel's research interests include medical/surgical education and health policy.
