Edward Karpman, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained urologist. He specializes in men's health, sexual medicine, male infertility, vasectomy, vasectomy reversal, hormone/testosterone replacement, prostate disease, kidney stones, prostate cancer and urinary/bladder dysfunction.


Dr. Karpman serves as medical director of the Men's Health Program at El Camino Health. He created this program in 2010 as one of the first hospital-based multidisciplinary men's health programs in the nation. He is also the founder and medical director of the California Vasectomy and Reversal Center - a leading center for vasectomy and vasectomy reversal in California.


With the belief that quality of life is as important as quantity of life, Dr. Karpman considers the whole person when providing care. Additionally, he is a strong advocate of preventive medicine, advising, "Staying healthy and active as we age is the best medicine."


Outside of work, Dr. Karpman enjoys spending time with family, surfing, traveling and working out.

This was my fifth visit, but I could see a PA. Other than the first visit, I didn't see the doctor and had to talk to the PA.

Dr. Karpman was outstanding in every respect. He answered all my questions in detail and recommended a course of action that will address all of my urological needs. Dr Karpman and his staff had a very clear understand of my condition and the best proceedures to deal with it. Very careful and deliberate with the diagnostics, tests, and analysis leading to the ultimate surgery. Judgements concerning treatment, recovery, and rehibilation steps were spot on. It was no picnic, but my recovery was exactly what Dr. Karpman estimated, and the results are great. After three month's recovery I am resuming normal living patterns, which I haven't been able to do for years. I understand that more complete recovery will take about nine months, and I am looking forward to every small step of improvement I can achieve. There are so many things I can do now, without needing to find a bathroom every two hours.
