Dr. Ellis is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She graduated from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada with a bachelor of arts degree and completed her medical degree at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. After medical school, Dr. Ellis completed her residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo and the Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, NY.

Prior to joining Tampa General Medical Group, Dr. Ellis practiced as a primary care physician as well as hospitalist at medical facilities in New York and Michigan. Most recently, Dr. Ellis worked in private practice providing primary care services including preventive medicine targeting high-risk patients and families to provide outreach to ensure compliance with disease management programs. With over 15 years in private practice, her special interests include diabetes and preventive care.

Dr. Ellis is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

This was never experienced at this time. The dr did not do an exam or anything. She did not address any of my issues I went there for.

She's been my doctor for the last 5 years and I always say that I want to change her because I find her insensitive and she seems to talk to me as if I don't know what I'm talking about and makes me feel as if she's talking to me as if I'm a child. She will talk to me and answer my questions where she makes me feel like she's dumbing me down. Only reason I haven't changed is because I just don't feel like trying to find a new doctor. The location is convenient and nurses are kind.

This was one kf the worst appointment I have gone to. i was treated with such shame that i have not been to the DRs in quite some time. i am teying to get my health back on track and to come into an appointment and be treated, this way is a shame for TGH. i was questioned multiple times as to why i haven't been to the DRs in a long time. With every answer u gave Dr Ellis would always come back with something else i need to be doung better. I pointed out multiple places of concerns i had on my body to her and it felt like she didn't care about them and only sent ultrasounds for certain parts but not the one i was concered about. overall this was one of the worst experiences i had in a Drs office for TGH and i will not be returning to see this Dr ever again.

As a first visit establishing care, since my years of coming here (almost a decade) meant nothing since I didn't come last year, her manner was unfriendly. I mentioned I had some health concerns which is why I kept the appointment to establish care and then reschedule an annual, but she ignored me and moved on to asking me if I saw a dentist this year. I understand rooms are being recorded now, and for billing purposes I have to clearly say I'm there for preventative/annual exam, but no kindness was expressed.

Semi-annual check-up. Spoke to me like I was an eight year old, or that I had just discovered I had diabetes. Talked over me and I felt like I wasn't heard.

The response to almost every concern I brought up was to contact a specialist. No discussion regarding chronic issues I have. I don't feel like I was really listened to and that the doctor was just checking boxes.

Started our visit off very rude. She asked me what brought me in, I started out speaking she cut me off and stated that our visit is only to establish. To establish you have to get patient medical history to understand.

Dr. Ellis is a great doctor, very easy to talk to and she listens compassionately. I feel very comfortable talking to Dr. Ellis about my concerns for which I am confident that I receive the best advice.

I don't have a good rapport with Dr Ellis as I have had with previous Dr. I can't explain it. She seems kind and caring, but everything is a referral to another provider. Maybe that's just how your system works. Maybe I am asking for too much.

Provider didn't say much, didn't go over my labs with me. Came in the room for maybe 2mins and left. Didn't see her again. Didn't say anything when she left at all either. Very rude and not the type of doctor I want to be seen by.

She was unfriendly and responded to questions in a negative manner. I would not recommend her.

The doctor didn't talk at all. I explained my concerns but she didn't talk about it. She was about 5 or 7 minutes in the room and then she left without saying goodbye or anything. Her assistant was friendly but didn't explain anything either. I asked if the doctor would be back and she said no. She gave some referral orders without any explanation. I had given her some documents from my medical history to be copied but she handed them back to me in a messy and incomplete state. Unfortunately, it was the worst doctor's appointment I've ever had. I went straight to the front desk to request a change of doctor. Now I have to wait until January 2026 to have my first doctor's appointment again. What a disappointment .
