Dr. Hugo Narvarte completed his undergraduate training at Duke University in 1996, and obtained his MD degree from the University of South Florida in 2000. He then moved to Houston, Texas for residency training in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. He moved back to Tampa and joined the USF faculty in 2005.

My previous practice in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine has narrowed it's focus to predominately Sleep Medicine. Our group in the USF Sleep Medicine Section has developed a multidisciplinary approach to all sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, hypersomnolence (excessive sleepiness), parasomnias such as REM behavior disorder and sleep walking as well as circadian rhythm disorders.

Dr. Carolina Martinez is a fellowship-trained surgeon with expertise in colon and rectal surgery, specializing in management of both benign and malignant colorectal disorders. Dr. Martinez uses advanced endoscopic interventions as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques to manage patients with colorectal tumors, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor dysfunction. Dr. Martinez is a compassionate physician whose primary goal is to ensure equal access to comprehensive health care. Among the many awards she has received, she is a proud recipient of the National Hispanic Medical Association Outstanding Resident of the Year, Administrative Chief Resident in General Surgery, and Zukowski Humanitarianism Award in General Surgery awards.
