After graduating from Laurentian University in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Chain attended medical school at St. Matthew's University in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. He completed both family medicine and primary care sports medicine residency programs at the University of Connecticut/Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Chain is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP). Previously, he volunteered as a member of the medical professional team for the Boston Marathon and as an assistant coach for the North Bay Down Syndrome Society Special Olympic athletes. I have the absolutes best doctor at TGH. He's friendly, his presence is not intimidating, easy to talk to and he explains things so I can easily understand. Ive never felt like I was just number in his office. I know that together we are care partners of my health. I am grateful for the time and effort. Everyone should have a doctor like Dr Chain!!!

This was my first visit with Dr. Phillip, I was very impressed with his bedside manners. He is very caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. Even though, it is my first visit I was so impressed I chose him to replace Dr. Castro whom I have very high regard for as my former primary care. I believe I will have the same outstanding experience I had with Dr Castro with Dr. Phillip. Kudos to Dr. Phillis bedside manners! I would refer him to friends and family.
